Birthday festivities

I would spend my entire birthday week fighting off a cold that just won't go away. I was more than determined to enjoy family dinner with everyone I love regardless of how I was feeling. The good news is I was feeling good just had a little bit of a lost voice. It was great to go to a new restaurant, enjoy some company and laugh away the night. (it must be a good sign when your aunt and mom are arm wrestling at the end of the night) Good thing I was there to keep them in line... thanks for all the great presents fam damily and of course for coming out. Since I didn't take any pics I will have to wait for Aunt Cindy to post some! Until then here is where we had dinner.

Currently I am relaxing with goose while drinking hot tea (for the throat) and watching HGTV. Man o man 26 came up fast! I am planning on breakfast with Kris and then Tommy planned a surprise for tonight so we will have to wait and see.....

Eventful Monday

Today was nothing short of a roller coaster. I started things off strong with an overflowing toilet.....again!!! After cleaning that up and waiting for the plumber, I finally sat down to work from home on my computer. The plumber started working and no more than 3 minutes in I hear Lucy making a gagging noise. I head out to the living room to a puppy getting sick everywhere. After getting on my hands and knees and tackling that mess, the other mess(my toilet) is fixed. :-) I get everything together and finally head in to work (at 10:30am).

Normal work day, thank goodness! I don't know if I could take to many more surprises!!

Meet my mom and aunt for a delicious lunch at True Food!! Sooo yummy, I am three days going strong with no diary and I can already tell it is a world of a difference on my little tummy. Now it's off to more studying, eating and then sleep.

This Saturday was a little bit different than most....

6:35am: woke up to my alarm- looked over to see my fluff ball giving a big yawn. *You know it's early when your puppy still wants to sleep.

6:40am: tired to pull my sore body out of bed to brush my teeth and put a sweatshirt on. (had to take Lucy to Petsmart extra early today to get her teeth cleaned) (also trying to keep her distracted while I study)

6:55am: hopped in the car and we were off to Petsmart. Got there early only so the cleaning guy and his loud machine could scare the crap out of Lucy (literally he scared the CRAP out of her).

7:20am: left Petsmart after cleaning up some business and passed Lucy off to the doctor (super sad pup).

8:00am: back in bed, out cold!

9:00am: second alarm, it's pilates time (once again pulled myself out of bed exhausted and sore).

9:20am: driving to pilates and I saw this sign.....

*this is the saying that Karli had tattooed on her back* (the friend that passed away on Dec. 19th) I definitely stopped to take a picture, a deep breath and to have a few tears. Thanks for reminding me Karli that life is never to hard and I shouldn't complain about getting up early! We are always thinking of you!!

Plans for the rest of the day.......11:15am: quit procrastinating!!!! Start studying......

Having a little time off from work can really do wonders. I have enjoyed spending some time studying for the BCBA exam, reading my kindle, cooking, sleeping, shopping, working out, dancing, and going to movies. I have spent the last few days laying in bed studying (feels good to actually make time) along with taking breaks to read my new favorite book series (The Hunger Games) You need to read!!!

Also Sam and I have spent far to many hours playing Just Dance 3 on the Wii, laughing so hard at each other while dripping in sweat. We are going to wrap up our weekend off with a movie today and a little more studying!!! Can't wait, back to the grind tomorrow!!!

in good company. Some girlfriends and I did something really unique and fun this year. We all got up at 9am and worked out together. I checked out this new studio the weekend before and while I almost died during my workout I knew I would be back to get my butt kicked again. This time I decided to invite some of my most courageous friends and I was surprised at the amount of girls that were up for a good workout. Whether it was the new years resolutions or a day off of work, I was overwhelmed by all my friends that came to sweat it out while swearing my name for 50 minutes :-) My friends are amazing, Thanks Sammy, Gill, Loom, Stina and Kates!!! I just wished all of my friends could have come. If you're in Phoenix and looking to get in shape check out this place.... Pilates Chandler I'll be there on Wednesday.

First off it is a pretty important guy's birthday today.....because without him I wouldn't even have this ridiculous blog. So Happy Birthday Dad!!! Hope your day is filled with endless golfing and ice cream since those might be your two favorite things.

I can't believe 2011 is over and of course as always I am excited to see what 2012 brings.... hopefully filled with so much to celebrate and lots of travels. Tonight I am planning on a low key dinner and drinks with friends along with a birthday cake for Lucy! Can you believe she is two already? Where does the time go....(insert adorable puppy picture of Lucy)

Lucy was sooo lucky on Thursday when Christy (a best friend from hs) and Sadie stopped by to stay the night. While the visit was short, Lucy was soooooo excited to see them and so was I.

Remembering Karli

While this past week was filled with many good and positive things, I definitely would have never guessed my week to end up quite like this... I had a dear friend pass away early last week and spent the week trying to get everything completed in order to attend the wake. While it was an expensive trip, I was sooo thankful and glad to be able to celebrate such a wonderful person. Karli was one of those people who was amazing and touched every person in her life. Here was a great news story on Karli's life, check it out here!!

i am still not even sure if that is a word but who gives? right Bailey's? this week has been exciting yet busy with lots of changes. first off i finally sent some lovely baby packages to all my friends that are baby mamas. keep your eyes peeled Sarah, Lynette, Rachel and Kristin. as always i am loving being a planner and helping send cute ideas for this new adventure to all the girls, hopefully they like the support. secondly my baby dog is back to being her crazy self and we are looking into some doggie classes to help her self-esteem, hahaha yep officially crazy and ready for 2012. and lastly i have been taking on more clients this week, which has been just plain exciting. i am loving the driving, new families, new co-workers and new clients. having a little bit more of a busy schedule has really helped me get more organized.

by some chance of faith my ASU sundevils came out of the season alive and are actually going to a bowl game in VEGAS!!! a few friends are deciding if we want to make a quick trip to go cheer them on, for one last harrah this season (hopefully plans will be made by the end of this week, fingers crossed)

can't wait for the holidays to be here, i am prepared and ready! bring it on.....

Sad doggie

We had a pretty sad little puppy when we arrived home from work last night. Her eyes looked horrible (puffy, red, gooey boogers, rolling back). Of course it was 5 minutes after 7 so Petsmart was already closed. I grabbed my pup and headed to the ER for what I guessed would be a long, expensive night (and I was right). After 3 hours of waiting the doctors were finally able to figure out what was wrong... Allergic conjunctivitis! After a pain medication shot, some eye drops and a hefty bill my pooch and I were sent on our merry way. We stopped and got some food on the way home and snuggled into bed to watch a movie. Lucy is feeling a little better today but everyone will be glad to know she isn't back to her sassy self just yet. Hopefully she will be better soon when we go to the vet tomorrow. Until then...

The Bailey girls or.... should I say women or.... should I say two Bailey girls and a Marasigan... were lucky enough to receive a fun care package from the Nylanders for Thanksgiving! While it caught us with surprise there is nothing better than a thoughtful gift from someone who knows you well, so thanks Nylanders!! I know I know I know you're wondering what was inside this wonderful package and it was nothing short of some favorites.

Yummy jam for my mom, baby books for Ali and Aid and delicious hot chocolate for me!!

If you know anything about me you know I love hot chocolate!! I would definitely put it as a major food group if it was acceptable, but since it's not I should probably try some other things too! Hot chocolate always gets me in the mood for the holidays and this package did nothing short of that. Not only did I drink the hot chocolate, I decorated, went christmas shopping and started my normal routine of favorite Christmas movies. Here are my top Holiday movies in no particular order because it is to hard to pick a favorite!

Back to the grind

This weekend was way to much fun and it was just what I needed. My time was spent with the fam damily relaxing, eating, drinking, cooking and relaxing some more. I headed up to my parents for family dinner on Wednesday night (for my FAVORITE dinner lasagna). Needless to say the family was entertaining as always and we were never short of entertain with FOUR dogs at the Bailey household. We spent Thanksgiving getting some exercise, eating and laying around. We definitely have plenty to be thankful for this year so we tried something new and ate at the club. After Thanksgiving the weekend was just getting started. A friend and I headed to the last home ASU game, hoping for a victory and yet once again the Sun Devils had a different idea... I didn't want to play in the PAC 12 championship anyway that's a lot of work, hahahaha. After another sad loss we headed to the neighbors in my parents neighborhood for MORE food and a intense bag competition to celebrate the big 55 for K Bails!! There was lots of laughter and no lack of competition but it was hard to pick a clear winner...we definitely need a rematch, so until next time. I wrapped up a enjoyable weekend cleaning, decorating for christmas, rearranging furniture, falling in love with pinterest, planning my next project and more cooking. Friends came over for a little football and LOTS of food. Here is some of the health food I made. hehehe :-)

...is my maid of honor speech. I really hoped someone would be able to tape it but this will have to be the next best thing. There was plenty of practice needed to remind myself to talk slow and to not be nervous, it's 250 of your closest friends and family hahahaha! Here it goes...

"Hi everyone, I am Megan Bailey, for those of you that don’t know I am Ali’s younger and SINGLE sister!! So just like any maid of honor or best man, I think it’s safe to say that there are very few people who look forward to giving a speech in front of 250 people. Needless to say in true youngest child form I have been procrastinating and sweating this moment for months.

While I thought of numerous embarrassing stories to help describe my happiness for Ali and Adrian, I then remember it’s not a roast it’s not a toast. Maybe Ali and Adrian’s grandparents don’t want to hear about Ali cutting my hair and putting me in a closet, or the time in high school when my friend and I went up to visit my sister in college and she took us to parties.Instead you might want to hear about the difference between Adrian and all the other guys Ali has dated (don’t worry this won’t take long).

While I haven’t always met every guy there was a definite difference with Adrian. With most guys Ali didn’t offer much information, she mostly kept to herself but when she met Adrian I knew something was different. She spent an entire Montana family vacation talking about him, asking for advice, wondering and then talking about him some more. Quickly after that trip we began to hear more and more about what a sweet, kind and giving person Adrian is. Once we got back from vacation I learned first hand not only how great Adrian was but; how great they were together. Ali and Adrian have never made me feel more comfortable as their third wheel. Not only are these two easy-going but also, they always bring out the best in each other. Never did I think anyone would get my sister to love sports as much as Adrian can. Good luck with Sundays Ali!

To Ali you continue to wow me everyday and I am so glad you found your prince and to Adrian I am so happy to have another brother. I just want to warn you Adrian you’re really gaining two sassy redheads with this deal. I look across the room and know that each and everyone has had an impact on Ali and Adrian’s lives and has shaped them into the amazing people they are today. Ali has had more than enough nicknames in her life and as some of you know us Bailey’s LOVE a good nickname, right Buster Boy? Whether it was Ally Cat by her father, Alice in the hood, Bails in high school, ABails, Al, Sister Bear, C&V or The Cat. I have a few spaces in my adorable condo that need a little extra love and organization. Here is my list of spots that somehow ALWAYS end up being a jumbled mess.

1. under my bathroom sink and the lack of storage for towels.

2. my laundry room (NO shelf space)

3. entry way closet

4. and of course the dreaded kitchen

I would love more than anything to organize, paint and make more space in these areas over the holiday break. I think I am going to try my hardest to be creative and organized for the least amount of money as possible. I have been stressed out all week. Paranoid that my desk will be decorated in my opponent's colors. Ahhhh it has finally happened the wedding festivities are blogged and I am finally ready to put up a post about just last week, can you believe it? Hopefully I can keep this up. The next few pictures are from the last few weekends. My mom and I went to Minnesota to see an old friend Blair Smith get married. It was great to be in the cold, spend time with pregnant Lynette and drink caribou hot chocolate with every meal. I was so glad to be invited as part of Blair's special day and it was great to see the Mallard Drive gang. Also there is a few pictures from Halloween and Whitney. All in all I can't believe fall is coming to a close and the holidays will be here before we know it!

Well needless to say I have been avoiding blogging about Ali's wedding only because it is going to take a lot of work and I definitely need a different post for each day to make sure to capture all the fun and pictures. So the wedding festivities started early on wedding weekend with dinner and bull riding with the people who were in town on Wednesday. We grabbed our boots and headed to Harold's. We had a small group of 20 or 25 people. I was already wowed and excited by the number of people that flew down to support and celebrate Ali and Adrian, so lucky!!! We started off the weekend right and couldn't wait for the next wedding event to come......The Mexican Fiesta!!

This fall Tommy and I planned the trip of a lifetime. One weekend after an ASU football game we decided to go visit Em in Minnesota, so we bought our tickets and waited for the weekend to come. While this was not too exciting for me because I go to Minnesota all the time, Tommy was thrilled. He had never been north of Las Vegas so you can only imagine how much fun we had. We packed our weekend full of sporting events and food (what more could you ask for) and we somehow managed to talk Tommy into going to a fashion show. The weekend went by way to quick and it was a blast hanging out just the three amigos...until next time........

It's been two games into the season I still can't believe how fun both games have been. For the first game of the season I was able to have the luxury of watching the game from the sideline. I was pretty much speechless the entire night (we all know this is pretty impressive). I was wowed by all the amazingness of college football and of course of the Sun Devils!! It reminded me once again how much I LOVE ASU (even enough to kiss the field).

Both games ended in victories for ASU, which left us being ranked 18. We are looking forward to cheering on ASU vs. Illinois and then again back at home against USC.

Here are a few pictures from an amazing trip to Whitefish. As always we made our way up to Whitefish, MT for the 4th with a small pack of friends and family. Once again the lake met us with sunshine, drinks, shopping, ziplining and more than enough food. We had a blast hanging with the cousins and enjoyed relaxing and watching the sunset.

A Lazy Saturday

It's a rainy cold day in Arizona and who could have guessed the weekend would end up this way, but I have enjoyed some relaxing creative time. I have been making invitations for Jamie's Baby Shower and have LOVED every minute of it. I have forgotten how much I love being creative and making things (kind of made me miss scrapbooking). Also I received the most thoughtful thank you card in the mail today and it reminded me to blog about last weekend. Last weekend Kyle, Lucy and I headed up to my parents on Friday night. Lindsey (Ali's best friend from high school) was in town so we all headed to Harold's for a little Friday night entertainment and it was definitely entertaining to say the least. Saturday we woke up and the boys went golfing while the ladies headed to a fantastic bridal shower for Ali. The shower was held at my mom's friend's house. The shower was simply fantastic and we had a great time enjoying hermosa's, playing games and eating some great food.

We played the Newlywed game and people wrote out date card ideas for Ali & Adrian:-)

The wedding season is over for now, THANK Goodness!! I am exhausted and was starting to get a little worn out. A few weekends ago Kyle's Brother (Nicholas) and his fiance Sarah got married. There wedding was a little bit different because it was in a family friend's backyard. There was plenty of time to spend with family and friends and needless to say after a long weekend of entertaining I was ready to relax at my own house :-) Here are some beautiful pictures from the weekend!

Mikey's Visit

This winter has been a little bit different, of course my parents have been in town which has been nice but we've have also been blessed with more time with the cousins. Aunt Cindy and Uncle Dan have been in town for the last couple of months and it has been nothing less than amazing to be able to call Aunt Cindy and meet for lunch and shopping whenever I want. I wish it could be year round but I don't want to be to selfish against Hudson. Recently Mikey came to visit and his visit was filled with laughs, karoke and good food. Of course the family met at Oregano's and then Cullen and I showed him our favorite dive bars, but the trip couldn't be complete without some famous Mikey cooking. We all got together at Grandma's and Mikey cooked an amazingly delicious meal for all....

This year was a big one, I celebrated the big 25 last week and to say my birthday was fantastic would be an understatement. I got to spend birthday dinner with all of my family (even Uncle Dan made an appearance) and a few neighborly friends (Judy and Sarah) were in town. It was great to have everyone together and the food was delicious, got to love Mom's homemade spaghetti. After dinner we headed to meet some friends at Zipps. Collyn and Kyle organized a bar crawl. ...and now I am trying to get things in order. I am more than excited to be able to relax on the weekend and blogging is definitely something I have planned. Here are some old pictures from New Years. We stopped by Devils to say hi to friends and then headed to Robert's house to celebrate the New Year. It was great to be able to spend some time with Sarah and Nicholas again (they were in town for two weeks). We played games, had some cocktails and of course

sported some dance moves. I knew 2011 would only be better than 2010 and I have only seen this proven true since then. :-)

Dana's 2nd Big Day

A few Saturdays ago all the SARRCie's got together to celebrate Dana and Brian. (SARRC stands for the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center, where I work) Dana, her family and Brian's family put together a great bridal shower and bachelorette party and I couldn't have been more excited to spend some quality time enjoying Dana in all her love. The shower consisted of plenty of yummy food, gifts and some fun party games. The party continued later on with an amazing bachelorette party perfectly crafted by Dana's fantastic sister. All of the fun events definitely made me get more excited for my own sister's parties. :-) Sooooo as the weekend approaches I am planning on sitting back and relaxing and remembering a wilder

So I have fully accepted that I am that crazy dog lady. My days consist of thinking about Lucy and then my nights consist of watching and taking care of Lucy. And of course my blogs now consist of Lucy but I just couldn't resist this one. I am still trying to accept the latest tragedy and I just don't know if I am ready yet. I hope by blogging about it I will be able to move on.... it's just hair right.

We have definitely been busting moves in apartment 1130. We recently rented Just Dance 2 for the Wii and I don't think I have stopped laughing since. Sam and I popped it in on Saturday a few weeks ago and before we knew it....6 hours later..... we were exhausted and tired out. Kyle made fun of us for being such video game nerds but guess who was playing by himself the very next day..... and what is even better is that I caught it all on video... enjoy!

Trying to play catch up....

doesn't it feel like we are all trying to play catch up whether it's the laundry, meeting up with friends or paying the bills we all are trying to catch up. Currently I am yet again working on catching up on some blogging. So today I will try to update you on a little family fun. Around New Years my Dad's whole family (minus a few cousins) were in town. It was a blast to see everyone and of course there were many laughs to be had. The boys enjoyed a day golfing in the freezing cold. The girls obviously enjoyed some holiday shopping and we all got together and headed to the club for some delicious mexican food.

We definitely know how to start off the New Year with a little fun with family!

A quick getaway

A couple of weekends ago we boarded a plane late Friday, as our flight was delayed two hours. We hoped that we would be able to make our connecting flight in Dallas, but we didn't bet any money on it. We got lucky as all flights were delayed out of Dallas due to a Thunderstorm. We ran through the Dallas airport (amazing race style) and made it 5 minutes before the plane took off. Our Florida trip was a little bit shorter due to all the crazy traveling but we arrived and were greeting by two smiling faces (Kyle's brother and his fiance Sarah). We woke up Saturday morning to some gorgeous weather so we headed to the beach, bars and shops to do a little exploring. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in a long time. It was great to see Nicholas and Sarah and the weekend definitely flew by too quick. Guess we will have to wait

until Christmas....

finally!!! The camera is back!!! and I am finally able to move forward and post a little blog on Collyn and Corey getting married. I have know Collyn since I started at SARRC and could always rely on her to help me crack a smile, find the answer and of course change a poopy diaper. A few weekends ago Kyle and I were reminded about what great people Collyn and Corey are. We were excited to be a part of their special weekend and can't wait to see what lies

ahead for the two. The entire weekend we felt like we were part of their family and this was only a reminder as to why we love Collyn and Corey so much. I should probably start off by saying that I LOVE WEDDINGS, and this wedding weekend was nothing but the best.

We flew in to Oakland on Thursday and spent the night with Kyle's Aunt and Uncle (they were so nice to let us stay the night and made us breakfast in the morning). Friday morning we headed to the wine taste in Sonoma with all of the wedding guests. We spent the day enjoying wine, snacks and the beautiful scenery.

The wineries we attended were St. Francis, Kunde (where they got married) and Imagery. After a long day of fun we headed to dinner at a small pizza place in Santa Rosa. Saturday was filled with more gorgeous views and of course all the wedding festivities.

After leaving my camera in the hotel room Sunday morning, I missed out on exploring pictures in San Francisco (guess we will just have to go back).

Thanks to everyone (Kyle's relatives, Collyn and Corey and their families and whoever I am forgetting) for an amazing vacation that we will never forget.

After reading my somewhat pathetic but cute post (as seen below) I got thinking about people who really are inspiring. People who go weeks, days, months without seeing their significant others. Currently I have two girlfriends who have husbands that are deployed and these woman are inspiring. How they are able to keep it together while being supportive of their husbands just wows me!!! LeeAnne and Christy are some of the strongest, smartest, sweetest, kindest, caring, giving, thoughtful, creative and loving people I know. (when I grow up I want to be like them) :-) Love you two, just wanted you to know how fantastic you really are!!!

Something Different

This week has been a little different. I am house/babysitting a 17 and two 15 year olds (And no I did not make them play mall madness for hours on end like I once did for a babysitter). I have spent hours sitting inside a house (that is not mine) bored out of my mind. Today is my last day so we are going out for a fun dinner. I have missed Kyle and Lucy like crazy. It has been hard to be by myself and know that I am stuck here. I found myself doing homework that isn't due for another week, working out and sometimes even reading books for pleasure. Yesterday I spent the entire day counting down the hours and minutes until I got to go to dinner with Kyle (kind of like when we first started dating). So as the time drew closer and closer, I got ready and might have been speeding to see Lucy and Kyle when Kyle called to say he was home from work. We decided to go get dinner and come home and watch our (more Kyle's than mine)favorite show with Lucy. After many laughs in the drive through at Sonic we headed home with our greasy food and just relaxed and ate. After a short hour I headed back to house/babysitting...... and I found myself in the best mood driving home. I don't know if it was..

Wedding Festivities

On Thursday Kyle and I head to San Francisco for a little vacation and Collyn's wedding. Here is a little bit of the agenda and no worries I will definitely be bringing the camera and take lots and lots of pictures. We head out Thursday night after work and fly into Oakland, California. Then we are spending our first night with Kyle's Aunt Judy and Uncle Johnny. We wake up Friday and head to a wine tasting with the wedding party and guests at noon. We have a free Friday night to explore Santa Rosa where were staying. The Wedding is on Saturday at Kunde Family Estates.

After wedding festivities all day Saturday we have a farewell breakfast Sunday morning and then it's off to explore San Fran until our flight Sunday night. We are extremely excited to see Collyn and Corey get married, get out of town and explore a new city. Join me in counting down the days.... 5 more

Something Different

This weekend was once again filled with new events. I spent the day wedding dress shopping for my sister. Little did I know how much work wedding dress shopping would be. We were all exhausted by 2 when we wrapped up our first of many days of dress shopping. After continuing my day I topped it off with a nap with Lucy. Kyle and I tired something different at night and had a date night on a Saturday. We have been together for over a year and had never been to a movie together, so it was fun. After grabbing our free movie passes we headed to see The social network (the movie about the youngest billionaire, who created Facebook) it was pretty good but nothing fantastic. As we walked into the movie theatre we were pleasantly surprised by Eric and his girlfriend Gillean. We topped off our night and enjoyed the movie with some snacks and friends. All in all a great night and a calm Saturday just got me more and more excited for our vacation to San Fran on Thursday. 5 more days!!

So after the last post, Kyle was a little more interested in the blog. First off he wondered where the "Just the two of us" was for him and Lucy. So I took a little video of the two love birds together in there usual manner.

I don't know if it's weird that I am taping them, talking to my dog in that voice or singing "Just the two of us". Either way Lucy sat like this for 10 minutes and was over us by the end of the video. Still makes me laugh...weird dog humor.

My best friend since I was 9 months old tied the knot Labor day weekend. It was a long weekend that flew by fast filled with activity after activity, luckily someone else brought a camera to capture a few memories. We stayed with the Dycks and had a blast hanging out. They were finally able to meet the infamous Skyles :-) We hit up Old Chicago with Rachel and Luke on Friday and then the wedding events on Saturday, headed to a Twins game and dinner with the Nylanders on Sunday and then topped it all off with the State Fair Monday before we left.

It was sad to go but we will be back soon!! (especially with more weddings to come)

So big news in the Bailey family.... Ali is getting hitched!! I thought it would be fun to celebrate with a cute post and pictures from their engagement weekend, for all to see! Since there is always two sides to a story, here we go.....

Adrian's side:

Asking your parents for permission.

It was Friday July 23, 2010 headed to work, talking to Ali and she mentioned your parents were going to be home for most of the morning and then head out golfing at about noon.

So I thought to myself it was time and probably the best time to catch both Mr. and Mrs. Bailey not busy and at home.

So I finally got into the office at about 7:30am and with the intention in calling Mr. and Mrs. Bailey.

I closed my door held my cell phone in my hand and looked for Mr. Bailey on my contact list. I found it, and was just about to hit CALL!

But waited for a second and said I should rehearse and make sure I don’t sound stupid!

I must of rehearsed it about 20 times….and when I looked at the clock it was already 9:00am….wow hour and half rehearsing and holding my cell for that long!

Alright finally hit call, and talked to Mr. Bailey and ask if Mrs. Bailey was home….he said yes, I asked him if he could put me on speaker, but Mr. Bailey did not know how to put his blackberry on speaker…so he told me to call the house phone.

So I called back and he put me on Speaker.

I said Hi and then proceeded to thank them and then asked for permission to marry Ali. When I was describing how much I care about her the line was very quiet. I thought… okay either this isn’t going well or for the first time in her life Mrs. Bailey was speechless. I was very nervous as

to what their response will be, but Mrs. Bailey said "Adrian we love you and are excited for you to be in our family."

They were excited and then I mentioned to them my plans on when and where.

ENGAGEMENT MORNING:

It was Friday August 6^th we woke up at about 6:00am and I mentioned to Ali we should just stay home and take the day off…..you should call in Sick.

Ali “My back kind of hurts” maybe we should call in?

Adrian “I think you should”

Ali ”okay”

Adrian “ Well you really don’t need to, because you don’t have to work today!”

Adrian “yes we are going out of town, to Sedona, you need to pack some clothes”

Ali jumped out of bed, happy, and ask a bunch of other questions, but I couldn’t remember.

So we had to do a couple things before we left and then we were off to Sedona at about 10:30am….We arrived in Sedona at roughly 12:30pm

Found Lodge of Sedona and tried to check in and our room wasn’t ready, so we decided to go around the grounds to check the place out.

We walked around for a while and then we were out on a bench.

And I began to say

Ali, the past year has been the greatest time of my life. You make me smile every time I see you. I found my best friend, a person I can trust, a person that I can talk too, and person that I want to be with for the rest of my life, you have made me a healthier and better person, I love you with all my heart and will do anything for you, will you marry me?

Ali paused and tears running from her eyes!

Adrian “well what do you say”

Whew, I felt relief and had a great weekend with my FIANCE

It was Friday August 6th and Izzy got me up at about 5:45 am to go outside. I came back to bed and Adrian mentioned that we stay home and take the day off. (He says that frequently so I agreed jokingly and said my back kinda hurts.

Adrian “I think you should”

Ali ”okay” (even though I wasn't going to call.)

Adrian “ Well you really don’t need to, because you don’t have to work today!”

I responded “ What, really.”

Adrian “ I talked to Jen and you have the day off!”

I was still a bit confused. “Really. Are you joking because I don't really want to get fired? When did you talk to Jen? Jen's not in today does anyone else in the office know what is going on with my accounts... I asked are we going somewhere with a Bikram yoga. (Because I was 15 days into my 30 day Bikram Challenge)”

Adrian said he really didn't know if anyone in the office knew, but he said that we are going out of town, to Sedona so I need to pack some clothes

I jumped out of bed all giddy and got ready. I was thinking maybe he is going to propose this weekend, but I was just excited to be heading to Sedona for some hiking.

So I had to tie up a couple loose ends at work and then we were off to Sedona at about 10:30am. During the ride up I called my mom to tell her that we were going out of town and she said, "Ali,

aren't you suppose to be at work?" I responded by saying that my boyfriend kidnapped me and he is taking me to Sedona for the weekend. Kbails said, "That's something fun and different." I thought to myself hmmm its for sure happening this weekend. During the car ride up Adrian was very quiet and did say much so I was wondering what was wrong.

Once we got to Sedona we pulled up to the Lodge of Sedona, which was a bed and breakfast that was very quaint and unique. We tried to check in, but our room wasn't ready, so we decided to go around the grounds to check the place out. We walked around for a while and then Adrian

said lets just sit down on this bench until our room was done.

So we sat down and were just talking and Adrian said...

"Ali, the past year has been the greatest time of my life. You make me so happy and I love your smile"......At this point he voice was shaking...so I was like...oh my god here it comes he is going to ask me to marry him. I started to cry and I really don't know what else he said. My heart was beating out of my chest and there were tears coming down my face. It felt like he went on for ten minutes, but it was probably one 1 minute. He got down on his knee took the box out and opened it. I looked down and then looked back up still crying. Adrian wiped my tears and said, "stop crying, you're going to make me cry."

Then Adrian said, "Are you going to respond?"

I said, "Oh Yes, Yes I want to be your wife."

Summer Fun

As I lay in bed on my last night of summer :-( I look back on the lack of pictures but lots of fun memories. School starts tomorrow bright and early and I can barely believe the summer is over... it was filled with lots of trips, movies, relaxation, books, summer classes, dog park visits and so much more. Here are some things that I can't get enough of and wish I just had more time to enjoy.....

Netflix: (I don't know why I didn't jump on the bandwagon earlier) Kyle and I (and the new roommate Sam) have enjoyed numerous movies both in the mail and instantly through the wii.

My Kindle: I have actually been able to read a few pleasure books in between hours and hours of reading for school, and I was even able to upload one of my textbooks to my Kindle, crazy technology.

Family time: both with my family, Kyle's family and the new fiances on both sides, congrats Ali and Nicholas :-)

Golfing: Yep Dad, you don't need to go get your glasses to re-read this post, I said I actually enjoyed golfing with or without an extra ball in my hand.

Sunshine: enough said!

A rough weekend

Kyle and I have been busy trying out golfing! Well obviously Kyle is golfing and I am trying it out! This past Saturday we headed to Stone Creek to play with Cullen, Andra and Adrian. (Thanks to Kyles Dad) We had a great time, despite the disgusting weather and I managed to keep my ball the entire time. Sadly on hole 17 I hit it into the rough and Kyle went searching for my ball (he fished it out of the lake barehanded the hole before). I thought for sure my ball was lost so Andra started the golf cart and drove to find her own ball. Little did we know (or hear) Kyle found my ball and thought we saw him throw it. I turned around just in time to see the ball hit the back bar on the chart to then hit me in the face, ouch!! So I am looking a little bit more rough today.....

And the best part about this story is I get to go to the D'Backs game today and have thousands of people see me like this! Man I hope the Kiss Cam is in my future, especially looking like this!

Big adventures for Papa Bailey

Vacation: Day 3

The weather was gorgeous! Another perfect day in paradise, it started off with breakfast at my favorite place Loula's! After a yummy breakfast we headed into town to run some errands and were done way before boating time, so I filled my time with homework. Since I am taking two classes right now I am spending way too much time on the computer, but I am trying to get ahead before all the guests arrive for the fourth. After some homework, we headed out on the boat for the day and someone new got to come!! You guessed right..... Lucy!!! She made her first debut on a boat and swimming in the middle of the big lake.

By the end of the day she was swimming all the way out to my Dad and back to the boat a few times :-) We closed off another great day with steaks on the grill and the bachelorette of course, hahaha!!

Vacation Nation!!!

So it is official.... 24 hours into vacation and loving it! We (Lucy and I) left Phoenix yesterday morning and had a full day of traveling. Lucy hated her cage and flying but we made it! Lucy was more than excited to see Grammy and Grandpa when we got off the plane. We spent the rest of the day swimming in the lake, going to dinner at the boat club and of course a dog walk to finish off the night. Lucy is in heaven and so am I, only thing holding me down is hours of homework and reading at night.

Who knows what today will bring.... :-) but Luc and I are excited to find out....

Who knew after doing nothing but work, eat, sleep.... 9pm rolls around and I am exhausted. Life has been a world wind. After an amazing trip home, I have had a little switch of a schedule. Kyle is working all the time, which leaves Lucy and I up to no good. Lucy has currently decided that she isn't potty trained anymore (I am hoping the reason is because she is never locked up with the opposite schedules). Kyle and I were able to get away for the weekend at my parents house which was full of relaxing and swimming with Lucy in the pool. Sunday Lucy had her first puppy class, which was extremely fascinating. Who knew you could learn soooo much from the Petsmart trainer (and it definitely made me realize Luc is a pretty good pup). After Sunday Kyle switched his schedule yet again... and now he is working nights. So this week contains lots of snuggles with Lucy, a good book or even falling asleep to my latest DVR show. Ahhh quite the life. Is it Friday yet??

I had a pretty amazing little weekend back home in Minnesota.....

it helped me relax, clear my head, appreciate life a little more and get organized. Here is a small list of the things I did during my short weekend and then a few pictures from the amazing new baseball stadium.

Breakfast with the mallard bunch, twins baseball game, watching the suns game with bird, Amy's bridal shower, LeeAnn Chin's, girls night with Lynette and Rach, the lakes with Kate and lunch and shopping at MOA.

A short adventure to Flag

So I am finally getting into the swing of things.... I have finally found a good balance between family, friends, school, work and blogging. Two weekends ago Kyle and I did an amazing job of taking a break from Phoenix and we headed to Flag to relax and see some friends. We stayed in a little hotel downtown and spent the weekend exploring Flag. Christy and Esteven were in town for a good-bye party so we were able to see lots of people and we wrapped up our weekend with breakfast with Kristin's family. It was so fun to see the snow and hang and meet new friends. We will definitely be back soon......

The Big 2-4!!

So it happened and I am still not sure I want to admit it :-) but I had yet another birthday. Once again my birthDAY turned into a birthWEEK, hahaha! My week was filled with shopping with the ladies and dinner, phone calls, fb messages, presents, a birthday party from my students, dinner with the fam, bowling with friends, dinner with Kyle's fam, more presents and text messages galore. I am thankful for everything I was given and all the kind thoughts, Love you all!!!

So I got something new for my birthday and I am sure if you've seen me lately you've seen a difference........ because I am getting toned!!! My Sis got me the new Reebok Easytone shoes I have no idea if they actually work but I keep telling myself they do. So check them out.... I'd recommend them!

Another present I got this year was something from one of my students. I think I almost peed my pants at school the day of my birthday party. One of my students arrives at school with a big bag and all day is so excited to tell me about his present. I continue to remind him over and over that we need to wait till the birthday party later. So finally we pull out the cake and they all sing Happy Birthday to me. He grabs his present with a smile bigger than you can imagine and tells me to open it up. Here is what was inside......

I am definitely continuing to struggle with blogging but lucky enough people keep asking me to keep the blog updated so it's keeping me slightly motivated.....

Tonight I am finally motivated to blog as an outlet to an end of a grad class. Yep, it is true I finished my third class for my masters. I am definitely in need of a break but that will have to wait till April because 3 more classes started on Monday :-) Instead of a break from school, Kyle and I are heading to Flag on Friday to get a break from Phoenix and see some snow (hopefully)! I promise there will be lots of pictures as we spend the weekend relaxing, visiting

friends (Christy & Esteven) and maybe even a little skiing or snowboarding.

Last Friday we were being spontaneous and decided to head to San Diego, to get away and visit friends. After just under 5 hours in the car we arrived to the sand, sun and busy streets. We meet up with friends for dinner and grilled on the beach all day Saturday and Sunday. The weekend went by too quick and we finished it watching football by the beach. It was hard to drive back home after another beautiful sunset, but I guess it's time to get back to reality...

Las Vegas: 1st annual girls trip

Since it had been over a year since Kate graduated, we decided to all get back together. The adventure began when we packed the car full and headed northeast at 4pm on Friday. With the Ipod on full blast and the awards being given out, we were more than excited and ready to go. We arrived in Vegas 5 hours later and checked in to TI. Our night quickly picked up as we headed for a night on the town. Saturday consisted of pool time and naps and before we knew it we were ready to go out again. This time we tried all the different palms bars, and we're blown away by the views. An amazing trip was over before we knew it and we said our goodbyes and hopped in the car for a long trip home.

Early October my college girlfriends (Andra, Brit, Kate and Lauren) and I planned a trip to Vegas. Since Kate lives in Minnesota, she flew in Thursday night and the college gang got back together. So back in October I made a little trip to the freezing state of Minnesota. It was my first friend trip back with no home to stay at, luckily I was welcomed with open arms to Lynette and Tory's ( my married friends)

adorable new house. Friday night I flew in and went straight to the bar for Rachel's birthday and of course what should happen the first night I am in town???

You guessed first snow of the season, just wonderful! The weekend continued with favorite restaurants, movies, people and quality time with everyone. I can't wait to go back... to bad it won't be till the temperature is above 70. :-)

Sad weekend.....the first ASU football loss, and it was such a good (almost) comeback.

As I lay on the couch on Friday after a long week of work, I start to feel it.... the scratchiness in my voice. Then swallowing starts to hurt. As the weekend went on, things continued to get worse and worse. A little fever, a running nose and of course the worst headache. So it's Sunday and I have tried to spend the weekend tackling this cold and I am walking away with my arms held high in surrender. Off to urgent care.

So I am about to start getting ready for the day because I couldn't sleep.... my brain won't stop thinking about the weekend and of course everything that needs to get done before then.

Here are just a few thoughts.

1. Homework....and lots of it. I definitely might be staying in tonight just to get it off my mind.

2. No kiddos today, training time. I am excited to finally see all my teacher friends and of course learn something new hopefully.

3. I am wondering if I will never finish my two leisure books these week. Has anyone seen the new Kindle? So neat!

4. I am excited because my family is coming back in town starting tomorrow. I can just shoot up North anytime I need to get away or visit.

5. ASU ASU ASU game this weekend. Hanging with some friends and watching the game what could be better?

6. Andra's Birthday is also this weekend. So Saturday night will be spent with the girls. And even more important Kate comes in less than a week! Girls weekend in Vegas is going to be a blast!

7. Man I need a haircut my hair is taking around an hour or so to do.... why is it that the longer it gets the more Ridiculous it gets.

8. Ahhh I hope the weather is cool and gorgeous this morning it really makes my day!

Well I finally found something blog worthy. I had a fantastic weekend, thanks to a few close girlfriends. Luckily enough I had a few extra tickets to the ASU football game, so what better than to invite your college roomies. I was packing up the tailgating gear, when we decided to take a walk on the wild side. We loaded up the tailgating van (which is a 3 gear stick shift) and headed to the game. Needless to say the ride was crazy filled with honks, singing and of course a little whiplash since the last time I drove a stick shift was in high school. It was great to hang with just us girls and you know do girl things. After a victory on the field we ended our night at the newest bar... Sandbar. Not only is this place fantastic, it is just around the corner from my house. Here are a few pics from my weekend...sadly my camera died so not everything was captured but I am trying to be a better blogger... I promise.

and more school! :-) Man I love it! My Grad program started this week and I can not explain in words how excited I am but I am definitely going to try. During my first semester I am going to be taking 3 classes. One that goes all semester and then two that go for only 10 weeks on an opposite schedule starting next week. I have spent my week doing little assignments, ordering books and checking blackboard. I have definitely confirmed that I am the biggest nerd in the world.

SARRC school where I work is also in full session we just finished our 3rd week. We are really getting in the swing of the routine and really getting to know the kiddos. They are so fun and definitely could be on "kids say the darnest things". As my schedule seems to be getting busier and busier, I have also started tutoring and training for the next half marathon. I am definitely unsure if I will be able to do it all this fall but I am going to try my hardest...... so we will see :-) Happy Weekend!!! Enjoy some rest and relaxation..... that is what I'll be doing.

School is finally back in session and definitely in full force. Hence the lack of blog postings and pure exhaustion on a Friday night (you know what I mean SARRC girls). But I am up to something new this weekend and week with a little bit of house sitting. It is always strange to stay in someone else's home, at least it is for me. Different sounds, different smells and different organization. It's weird to imagine yourself walking in that person's shoes.

It's super quiet yet peaceful....

It's stressful yet calming....

It's scary yet fun....

This week I am going to relax....enjoy the week and pay alittle bit more attention to the details before school, tutoring and work are back in full force.

Sunday Funday: Wet n' Wild

Last Sunday I re-lived my middle school summer. Em, John and I wanted to check out Wet n' Wild Phoenix. While the drive was a little far (I-17 and Pinnacle Peak) we had a blast getting pumped to ride on the slides, haha! We spent the day hopping from line to line checking out every slide. Our first ride was of course the racing slide. We are all way to competitive and yes I took second, John of course beat everyone.

My suggestion would be to bring water shoes and go during the weekday. The rides were ridiculous, so much fun and left me screaming at the top of my lungs. My favorite was the tornado.....

We spent the entire Sunday at Wet n' Wild so I was exhausted.

Weekend Relaxing/Organization Time

School is approaching at a rapid pace... I think the official countdown is 40 hours. I am so excited to start a new year and work my butt off to see amazing gains in our kiddos. Since school starts on Monday I decided to FINALLY get my life/condo in order. I spent most of the morning doing laundry, putting things away, cleaning, car wash and oil change. I am spending my weekend with the perfect balance of fun and organization. Since I have been stinking at taking my camera with me to reminisce my fun times (definitely makes it harder to blog) I will just fill you in on my fun activities in the last few days.

Parent Teacher Night: Got a chance to see old families and of course finally put names to faces for all our new families.

Competitive Volleyball: All the old college friends got together for some serious 4 on 4 volleyball. Lots of laughs but I have definitely lost all my volleyball skills in the last 4 years.... maybe I never even had them :-)

Somewhere in between the craziness of friends, family and work I have been slacking on blogging. I haven't been able to blog as much as I would like too nor have I had time to put quality ideas in my computer. While I am still struggling to find time and feel positive and excited for people to read what I post I thought I would at least update with some amazing pictures (there's ALOT) from an event I will NEVER forget.

So last weekend one of my best friends from high school married a boy I've known since Kindergarten. They couldn't be more perfect together and I could honestly say I wouldn't mind being their live in roommate/1st child because they are so fun together. (Don't worry Mom I won't do it, I am still planning on hopefully finding a cute boy for myself) I was more than grateful and happy to have the chance of being a small part of their important day and we all

So as some of you might have heard, seen or know I have been in and out of Phoenix every weekend and finally all my planned vacations are over. As I finally got on the plane home from Minnesota, I sat down to think about everything I have been grateful for in the last month or two. While I was sad to leave Minnesota, I am excited; busy and nervous for what Phoenix has in store for me this year.

I had the most amazing time in Minnesota. I was reminded all about how I love the summers there. Where you can roll down the windows anytime of day and feel the breeze (not to hot or too cold). I was reminded once again ALL about the "Minnesota Nice". I am grateful for all my friends that took me in now that I don't have a home. From lunches with lifetime neighbors, trips to the airport, movies and ice cream with friends, caribou and all the wedding bliss in between. I am lucky that even after 5 years I am able to have amazing friends and family in both Minnesota, Arizona and even a few in Montana.

As I sat on the plane laughing at the cute old man next to me, I began to start to drift down to reality. I had to realize that tomorrow once again work starts, my oil needs to be changed, car washed, groceries bought and prescriptions to be picked up. I wrote down my extensive to do list and then felt completely overwhelmed.

Instead of freaking out, I put on the ipod headphones and thought about the next few weeks/months. (Hints the updated country music on the blog) My mind was filling with all the stuff to be done but also all the new things at work. We are starting school in exactly one week and I can't wait to start the new classroom with all the families. I have become excited and nervous just thinking about what lies ahead this fall. I need to constantly remind myself that I need to quit planning and start living in the moment.

After I got off the plane little did I know that Phoenix wanted to welcome me home in a big way...... I broke my phone and lost my luggage all within an hour of being home. Oh wait..... I just got a call from NWA that my bag is on the way to my house yea!!!!! Only 24 hours later!!! :-) Laundry time! Off to work on that to do list.

So I just found out about this new website called Rue La La. It is a serious discount designer online store and it is fantastic. It has different sales that happen only once during that day and once the merchandise is the sold the sale is off. Needless to say it is fantastic and I would definitely suggest this to anyone who has expensive taste with little to no budget. Someday hopefully I will be able to buy something....

So as everyone might know at work or seen on facebook, I've been doing quite a bit of traveling. From family parties, to selling the house and to Montana. I once again set home on Friday to enjoy a weekend in Minnesota with the girls. It was weird to be at home but not be able to sleep at my house anymore and of course it was 60 all weekend, figures.

I am finally at that stage in life where my friends are getting married and engaged, left and right. With Christy last summer, Lynette this summer and Amy next summer I am definitely busy. I had an amazing time at home and I was reminded once again about what great friends I have. Friday night Ly's sisters threw a fantastic bachelorette party with a party bus included. We had a blast and of course almost 300 pictures later, we are still trying to remember all the laughs.

While Friday was great it was even more fun to see old college friends and spend lots of time with Ly and Tory. Like Ly told me on the way to the airport, it has been sooo long since we spent that much time together. It just reminded me how much fun we have together, how much she understands me and how excited I am for her to jump to the next stage in life. So I wish the best of luck to Tory and Ly on their adventure together...... can't wait to see you two at the wedding in 10 days, Love you both!!
