At it again

Someone was loving his cookie monster toy this morning.  After slapping him last night, Cade has come around (it is a love/hate relationship).  We had a blast at the birthday party yesterday and this little guy got plenty of spoiling and sugar.
After a relaxing Saturday afternoon Tommy and I headed to meet up for some gluten free pizza and a movie with Jess and Brandon.  We ended up seeing World War Z (wasn't horrible but it wasn't oscar winning).  We had a good time regardless and wrapped up yet another productive Saturday.

Mom Time

My mom and I are off to have our own little adventure this morning and I have been looking forward to a little one on one time with my mom.  On this beautiful Saturday morning we are heading to Sweet Salvage which is a fantastic little home decor store.  Hopefully we will find some treasures.  Wish us luck!!!
And of course we must be careful to save our energy, since we've got a big birthday to celebrate today.  Cader Michael is turning 1!
Happy Birthday Cade! Can't wait to celebrate

Happy Friday!

Aren't these two just so cute???
One might just say this view is the perfect way to end your week...
with a belly full of Zipps wings and a Zipparita on top.  We snuggled into bed with the Gooser and if you can't tell someone was extremely excited for his golf tournament in the morning.  Hopefully they have fun!  Cheers to another great and relaxing weekend!

Doggie Day

Every dog has it's day and Lucy's was definitely not Thursday.  We spent our morning catching up on our vaccines and exams this morning.  Lucy spent most of her morning scared out of her mind (in between my legs) but we are finally all caught up for the summer.  We (Tommy, Sam and I) were suppose to start obedience classes last night but they were cancelled :-(  Good news is that gives us a little more time to collect some baseline data on some of the naughty behaviors we are looking to change.  Only we would be excited about these classes (yea for not be stressed about having a misbehaving doggie).
After a long stressful morning with the vet everybody needs a good nap.  It's amazing how much stress affects a person (or a doggie in this case).  Now we don't have to go back to the vet until December...

Finally

Last night we finally made it out to my first D'backs game this season.  Bluemedia had a work event for employees and their significant others and only Bluemedia would make a giant sign for their very own star player.  It was great to be able to have a gluten free hot dog and beer (and of course to see good friends).  Who ever thought the gluten free part would be possible???
Check out that signage... Go Blue!

Demotion

We are starting the week off strong at the Bailey household.  A week mixed with a busy work week, jury duty, a Diamondbacks game, a baby shower, vintage shopping, Cade's birthday party and a doggie training class will be keeping us BUSY.  After an overload of dominating doggie behavior this past weekend Lucy is experiencing a small demotion (lots of exercise, strict walks, sitting in the back of the car and obedience classes) this week.  She is not exactly sure what happen...
Tommy and I (and even Sam) are excited to all get re-trained starting tomorrow.  We will let you know how things go.  Here's to hoping the busy week goes by quickly.

Working weekend

After keeping the workout kick going on Saturday we headed over to celebrate Avery turning two at a park in Chandler.  It was a perfect morning and the splash pad was a perfect location for all the kiddos.  As noon approached and the temperature was rising we decided to escape the heat (a little bit).
After singing Happy Birthday to dear Avery, Tommy and I headed to pack up the doggie and our stuff and went north to stay at my parents.  After a relaxing weekend watching sports, enjoying some yummy enchiladas and getting the doggies some exercise we headed to downtown Cave Creek to grab some breakfast.
As you can see the top food choice for everyone was bacon with a side of pancakes (and eggs in my case).  You know you are in good company when there are 4 sides of bacon, yum yum yum!  Another great, relaxing weekend in the books.  We are really getting into the rhythm of things here.
Let the Mexico vacation countdown begin... 27 days! Viva Mexico!!!

Friendships

Warning:  a semi-deep post for me (trying something new).  I've been thinking about friendships or relationships in general for the past few months (maybe more due to work).  After talking to a dear friend today for over an hour, once again I am reminded of the tricky balance in a friendship and how rewarding everything really can be when you both put in the time and effort.  Relationships are a fine balance of give and take.  Your relationship is only as strong as what you put into in and is just as exciting when that person or people puts in the exact same effort.  Tommy and I have been sooooo lucky to have found such great friendships across the nation.  We are also so thankful for all the support we have received from maintaining these friendships throughout the years.  There is nothing I have loved more than moving away, growing up, and moving through the next stages of life (marriages/kids) together and figuring out how your relationship changes and looks different.  So mucho gracias to all our fantastic friendships and relationships who knows where we/I would be without you.

On the bandwagon

The rumors are true Tommy and I are back on the workout bandwagon (okay okay so there might not actually be any rumors going around).  We are going strong for three days (so it's still early)!! By waking up early and getting our workout in before work we have been able to miss out on the heat too.  Unfortunately I acquired a large blister on the back of my heel today, so I am not exactly sure what that might do to my workout schedule for the weekend. We will have to wait and see...
Since I've been working out more we of course have been rocking many of the adorable workout outfits from Ellie and Lulu.  Here are some new things I've had my eye on.  My only rule is I can't buy anymore workout clothes unless I continue to keep working out.  Here's to keeping the streak going...

Cherry on top

To top off another great weekend this morning Tommy and I headed to AJ's to get the best iced coffee (and we may have split a GF chocolate chip muffin).  Since we were headed to do my least favorite thing in the world (grocery shopping) I needed something to keep me motivated.  Luckily I have an excellent boyfriend and he knows how much I dislike this mandatory excursion so he always takes charge.
With a few less dollars in our back account and plenty of meals planned for the week, we walked out of Fresh and Easy feeling semi-successful.  While I enjoyed my iced coffee treat, little Lucy also enjoyed a treat... a new doggie toy.
She did not let it out of her sight for more than a few minutes this weekend.  Everyone got a little bit of spoiling this weekend except I am not sure what Tommy's would be... maybe golfing with the boys?

New Food

As Tommy and I were driving to dinner with some friends on Friday we had a wonderful surprise.  I saw it first and since I was driving all I could do was point and yell Oh my goodness!!  Tommy quickly turned and saw the sign for our favorite Taco place... America's
We not exactly sure when this location is opening but we couldn't be more excited since it is only a few blocks from our house.  If you haven't tried America's yet you NEED to go!!  You definitely can't beat these Happy Hour specials as well...

Monday thru Friday---DINE IN ONLY--
$.50 Chips and Salsa- $1.00 Tacos- $2.00 Imports- $4.00 Margaritas

After driving past the great news and not crashing my new car, we arrived at San Tan Brewery for dinner with the Barkyoumbs!  Since we hadn't seen the Newlyweds since their wedding in March we had plenty to catch up on :-)  Right before we started to eat we realized that we were all eating the same meal as the last time we got together.  Man we sure are exciting!  We definitely promised to mix it up next time and would not wait as long.
The delicious cocktail I enjoyed after a long week.  A Hop, Skip and Go Naked!

Love Love

Last night my new favorite dating show wrapped up with their season finale.  While everyone makes fun of my tv watching choices, there is just nothing quite like my mood after watching a show about falling in love.  I love watching about love (it put me in such a good mood that I vacuumed and mopped my entire house at 9pm).  Ready for Love is/was a show about 3 single guys looking for love with the help of some matchmakers (there is still time to watch on NBC online).
I know my Dad will be right on this recommendation, hahaha.  Hope everyone is having a good week so far.  I know Tommy and I are already counting down the days till Friday.

Heating up

Ever feel like someone's watching you??  After spending the weekend up at my parents Lucy and Ruby might know exactly what this feels like.  While Lucy and Ruby have a love hate relationship they do entertain each other and we always leave my parents place completely exhausted.  On Friday night, Tommy and I headed up North to spend some quality time with my Mom and Dad.  Tommy received some serious spoiling as he golfed his weekend away and I may have even got some free lessons at the driving range.  Mom and I spent our Saturday with a dog walk, swimming, cooking and reading a good book.  It was just what we needed to escape the heat.
