RC's 40th

We celebrated another birthday a few weekends ago and it was extra special since R.C. was turning 40.  All the gang got together at our house before and we enjoyed a few cocktails before walking over to Sandbar.
As always Alison did an awesome job on the cake, decorations and really all the planning to make sure everything stayed a surprise.
I hate to say it but the best part of getting the Bluemedia group together definitely has to be these amazing ladies. They are so supportive, thoughtful, brave, caring and most importantly fun.  No matter what is on our plate for the night, I know I will be crying laughing at whatever comes our way.
Happy Birthday R.C., cheers to more great years into your 40's.

Facetime

Seeing this little face over the computer screen definitely makes the world go round.
Thank goodness for technology :-) but since I've been working longer hours in order to get ready for summer camp, I have been missing our nightly Facetime sessions.  Hopefully I can make it home before his bedtime soon, sleep tight Cader Michael.

Flower Child

Last Sunday my mom and I were more than excited to go check out an open house for a company called Rafterhouse.  We saw them at the Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market and fell in love.   They buy houses in the Arcadia area and restore their history by bring back their character.
We needed to refuel before the tour, so we tired a new restaurant.  Since my family usually wants to eat at the same 3 spots, mom and I try to go elsewhere when it is just the two of us.  Today we were feeling like checking out Flower Child.  It was perfect, gluten free mac and cheese, gluten free chocolate chip cookie, and fruit to top it off.
Proof of it's yumminess!
On top of finding another great gluten free restaurant, it was located just down the street from the open house.  Please note this house is absolutely perfect but definitely not in our price range nor are we looking, but I do LOVE all the fantastic decorating ideas.  I challenge you to try to find something you don't love about Rafterhouse, they did another great job.

MN Love

Late last week Tommy was busy looking for supplies for a bachelor party, when he stumbled upon this...
For those of you that don't know 2Gingers is a whiskey that is from Minnesota, and only recently were we able to purchase it in AZ.  2Gingers reminds me of a fun day spent checking out the bars in downtown Minneapolis with Tommy and Em.  I can still remember the rainy weather, the delicious lunch at Barrio and being on my 1st trip with Tommy.

Of course there is always the standing joke that 2Gingers must be my drink of choice since I am a Ging (that's still up for debate).  Regardless if I like it or not, Tommy must have remembered all the good memories around 2Gingers too because he bought it (or maybe he was just thirst).  Whatever the reason hopefully it will bring us some more memories and make us never forget how much we LOVE our time in MN.

Sunny Sundevils

GREAT news the weather in MN looks to be above freezing, glad to see this little family knows how to represent.  Go Devils!
Suns out, forks out! #ASU

Birthday Weekend

We LOVE spending our weekends celebrating birthdays, lately that seems like all we do.   A few weekends ago we attended the cutest circus themed birthday party for the most adorable 1 year old.  After enjoying the sunshine at Hannah's 1 year old birthday we went to celebrate a 40 year old.
At R.J.'s casino themed 40th birthday party later that night, we also had a blast.  There was plenty of laughter and fake gambling to be had by all.

We didn't have to wait long, as our next surprise birthday party was the very next weekend.  Who can resist more celebrations and all the birthday cake, yum yum!

#Bubbasmommietime

Nothing better than when Lucy behaves herself at Mimi and Papa's house.  Tommy and I headed up to enjoy some family time with my parents a few weekends ago.  We always enjoy some time away from our everyday chaos.
Lucy enjoys our long morning walks and swimming in the pool.  Maybe we can fit in a long walk with our first free Saturday morning this weekend.  Dream Big.

Bonding

One of my mom and I's favorite things to do these days is vintage shopping.  We love looking for a great deal on a piece with tons of history.  A few weekends ago we braved the long line and headed to Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market.  When we walked in, there was row after row of unique vendors from all across the state, it only took us 3 hours to walk through :-)
Mom found some great vintage finds and I was able to pick up a detailed vintage mirror.  I still haven't figured out where I am going to put it, but that is the least of my worries.
We will definitely be back to the next Vintage Market in September.  Here's to saving some money before then.

College Get Together

Panda was visiting from San Antonio, so what better reason to get 11 of your college buddies together at a D'backs game.  We all got together at Tilted Kilt before the game to chat and catch up.
While chatting at TK, we agreed on trying the $25 Jalapeno Bacon Corn Dogs (I bet you can guess who was trying to get everyone on board).  They were delicious and plenty of food for all of us.
Tommy was excited to rock his new shirt.  Can you blame him???  While most of us were college friends, I decided to invite a few girls from work.  As always the D'backs took another loss but at least we had a fun time together.

Silver City, NM

This post is long overdue, as I was able to have my first travel experience for work.  I spoke in a town in New Mexico, for autism leaders in their small community.  The town was adorable and the people were sooo friendly.  It kind of made me miss Minnesota.
While I was there for only two days, I look forward to the next training abroad.  It was a neat experience to help others that don't have access to the great services we have available in Phoenix.  I wonder where I will be off to next??

Cleanse

Lesson Learned: Want me to do something ridiculous? Ask me at 6am Monday morning.
Check.  I will always say yes.  It happened on Monday in Pliates.

Of course I would love to do a juice cleanse for two days.  Come Tuesday afternoon, I can't stop thinking about food, what I am making for dinner Wednesday, what I am eating for breakfast, when can I finally eat, what dessert I will have with lunch, the list goes on and on... kind of like this sentence.

Tommy joined me for day two of the juice cleanse and I will be lucky if he doesn't break up with me after this, hahaha.  Our bodies feel great, our mental states well that's still up for debate, but I guess those were up in the air long before Monday.

Wish us luck on 6 more hours, we can do it!  I think...

All Grown Up

I wish I looked this cute in pigtails!  Guess Auntie Meg won't be buying anymore headbands.  Sophia's a big girl now! :-)
