It's official

Goodbye Mallard Drive :-( I will miss not living in Minnesota soooo much!

One more week...

Can you believe it...... Ahhhh it's beautiful!!
I've been procrastinating all week putting together cars instead of writing reports. Kind of like the way I am blogging right now instead of working on my application to grad school. Interesting.

Blogging Game!

So one of my fellow bloggers Taylor tagged me and passed along this cute blog game.... so here is how it goes!!
Instructions: "With as much creativity as you can muster, show your heart in:
*a picture *a poem *a song
*a phrase or quote *an item of clothing
*a place *and (just for fun) a disney princess

A Picture:
No words needed!

A Poem:
A saying from a book in reference to roulette.--- because I don't really do poems
"I now know that I'm not fully in control of what will happen to me, nor will I ever be. But that's okay. Because I also know that I'm not just watching the white ball, I am the white ball."

A Song:
By far, for sure, no doubt in my mind....
"Wildflowers" By Tom Petty

A Quote:
"What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about?"

An item of clothing:
Although it's not really clothing and my mom hates them, I just love them! I wear them all the time in every color. They always remind me of the sun, college and AZ where I have learned and grown up a lot!

A Place:
For sure Greece!!! I am pretty sure I could move there today and look at those gorgeous white houses and blue sea for the rest of my life!

A Disney Princess:
I spent hours and hours watching this movie and pretending to clean the dishes just like Cinderella... to bad that didn't help out later in life.

Lee, Jenny & Kristin you are definitely suppose to do this on your own blogs, consider yourselves tagged!

Ready, set, go.....

As I take in this crazy week and try to get everything done, I have to remember to continue to get ready for the next step and of course to reflect on the past year. So in case you didn't already know the last day of school is tomorrow. I am finally getting sad about leaving the kiddos, leaving my amazing co-teachers and of course looking forward to what lies ahead for next year. My brain this week is spinning with dreams of the new playground, reports, testing, intervention and building of new toys but when I am not at work I am getting excited for what the next month will bring.

I am flying home to Minnesota this weekend to pack up the house I have lived in my entire life (minus 11 months). As like most people of course I will be sad but I can honestly say that because work is soooo busy I haven't thought about it much. I can only imagine what it will be like packing up everything and waving good-bye to Mallard Drive on Sunday. While this weekend will be very sad, I am super excited to see everyone again. My weekend is jam packed with dinners, birthday parties, drinks and baby showers. I can't wait to get on that plane on Friday with a good book and fly north to everything that is soooo familiar.

So I am thankful for....

*Amazing kiddos and families
*Donations for an amazing playground at SARRC
*The best co-workers/friends a girl could ask for
*Great friends to keep my mind off all the changes
*A helpful and supportive family
*Long-lasting and never ending friendships in MN

...and of course there are many more but just a few off the top of my head.

Made in the Shade

So not last weekend but the one before that...... Rach and I tried something new.
We hopped into the car and cruised North for a fun event. We ended up in Flagstaff at Made in the Shade, which is a beer festival. It was fun to get out of the city, met new people and of course to catch up with Rach!! You should definitely think about going next year....

Traveling back in time

It is official, I was definitely suppose to live in the 80's for longer than 4 years. On Friday Bluemedia did signage for the 80's party at Wrigley Mansion. So of course Andra, Pat, Brent and I got decked out in 80's gear and headed to rock out at the mansion.
With the economy so bad there were definitely less people at the event but I would have to say that the outfits were WAY better this year. We had a blast dancing and singing, I can't wait till next year.

It's beginning to look like a playground :-)

Ahhhhhh we just can't wait any longer, the suspense is killing us...... everyday it is beginning to look more and more like a playground. Rumor on the block is that the playground will be done just in time for the end of the year party, ahhhhh!!!! This week the construction workers were busy with....
-the water fountain
-the ball hoop
-the safety turf
-the road (has safety covering and stripes)
-the sun shade
-the play structure
It all looks amazing and hopefully the pictures are good enough to see all their hard work. Yea!!

When giant giraffes get donated...

On Thursday the Phoenix Zoo went to donate a HUGE animal to the hospital but they wouldn't take it, luckily for us at work they stopped in and asked us if we would want a giant giraffe. How does someone say no to that??

So I'd like to welcome our new addition at work, Gina (I think that was the name decided on). Everyone went to team building last night and left Kristin and I in the dust. So we had some of our own fun with Dana's desk. In the past years we have had more than one giant animal donated, so we thought we would let the animals hang with Dana at her desk. Kris and I worked hard and long to decorate Dana's desk.....(just kidding it really only took a few minutes)

And she loved it!!!
Happy Friday!!!

More changes...

Ahhhhh slowly but surely.....
it is getting really cute because the kids are becoming more and more aware that it is the new playground. They keep asking when they can go play on it...... ahhhh sweet!!

A fun weekend

So it is a little late but better late than never is what I have always learned. While Ali has been extremely busy at yoga school, I decided to go visit her last weekend. I had a surprise visitor hop in my car and we headed to Palm Springs. Ali was completely shocked when we went to get my bags in the car and out popped Mom, gotcha Al!!!
We spent the day reading and laying by the pool at this amazing hotel. I mean who can blame Ali for attending school here, it was gorgeous!!
Yep I know what you're thinking this hotel looks familiar......Yep, you got it!!
It's from the Saved by the Bell episode where Jess Spano's Dad gets married!! This little fact might have made my entire weekend.

It was fun to meet all of the great yoggies and see how much Ali is loving Yog! I can't believe she is done with school in one more week, it flew by! Congrats Ali and have fun in your last week, Namaste!

Go Sister Go!!

I am pretty sure I am going to make someone's day in this post.  I keep hearing.... "when am I going to be on the blog?" I've been waiting for just the right story and I think this might be it.  So my sis is off at bikram yoga in palm springs.  While I have ever understood the exact love of yoga since the ball sweat accident, I think it is amazing that she is there training to be an instructor.  There is absolutely no way I could do it, GO Ali GO!!  Em and I are heading to visit her next weekend.  I am looking forward to relaxing by the pool with a little sister time.  Ali you're amazing and I can't wait to see you on Saturday!!  Work it!! (just look for the ging)

Something different.

Friday night was suppose to be a little bit calmer than most....

took a nap after work
made dinner
baked RED VELVET cupcakes (my favorite)
watched he's not that into you

then Pat calls to go bowling.....

So we head over to the bowling alley by his house.  Mind you I don't bowl often, nor I am good.  Ask the girls at work we just had a team building night a week or two ago.  While Pat and I have played in many co-ed leagues together, love sports and being competitive who knew what would happen next?

Three hours  and 6 games later, we had a blast!!  (or at least I did)  I beat Pat 5/6 games and the best part of it is Pat is actually a pretty good bowler.  Pat admitted he has never seen a girl bowl that well and that he had never been beaten by a girl.  I might have bowled the 5 best games of my life, 124, 152, 160, 166 and 132.  Hahaha and he never saw it coming... so many strikes I lost count, j/k.  All and all a fantastic Friday!

***Just so you know I wouldn't bother asking Pat about the nightmare that happened last night because he'll just tell you he went to bed early around 10.

Are you kidding me??

Families are ridiculous and so is technology and when they are mixed together.... this is what happens :-)

So almost everyone knows a little bit about Facebook.  If not here is a brief description...a networking website to let you talk to  people you know, it started when I was in college.... so it's pretty much something I check everyday.  My mom just got herself her own profile to stay in touch with friends and family.  My sis set up the account and my mom is still working on how to use the darn thing.

So on Facebook there are these quizzes you can take ranging from, "What color are you?" to "What 80's sitcom are you?" to "What is your engagement ring style?".  A month or so a go I took the quiz "When will you get married?"  and here was my results...

Megan took the when will you get married? quiz and the result is 45
well at least you have found your true love

Not really surprising since I am kind of picky. So for people who don't know Facebook they then post this on your wall.  This means that on your profile it tells everyone how you did on the quiz, kind of embarrassing right?  Especially if you don't like the results... in my case not a huge deal.  So yesterday I am on Facebook checking out my cousins and families profiles when I notice my mom has posted something on her own profile instead of commenting on mine.......

"Megs, I will be a little old if you wait until 45 to get married, Dad can wheel you down the aisle! Yikes!!"

Hahaha, yep my mom just blasted me on Facebook!  Thank goodness she didn't know how to post on my wall or else that could have been extremely embarrassing!  Hahaha love you Mom!!  Thanks for the advice

Long overdue!

So I have been meaning to post these pictures when I got them on May 27th but I have been just too lazy and I had a hard time blogging this week with my crap everywhere.  Anyways my Auntie and Uncle are grandparents!!!!!! Brandon and Sarah finally had the baby and it is adorable.  All the family was able to be in Kansas City when Hudson was born, so they all celebrated together.  Congrats Sarah and Brandon!!!  Can't wait to see Hudson and you all soon....

A different angle....

I woke up this morning with this view from my bed...... hahaha..... it's moving day!
Em and Ruby are going to love their new floors and I am going to enjoy having my condo back.
Party on!

Are they done yet? :-)

There has been a lot of hustle and bustle around the playground this week.  With the walls being built, the shade poles being put in and putting the stakes in for the cement.  I think that each of us teachers has spent at least a half an hour a day watching the construction workers in awe! We just can't wait!!  I have been studying the blueprints so I can explain to everyone where everything is and where it is going, I know I know definite cool points!!  I took a few different pictures this week because it is hard to imagine from certain angles. Enjoy!!

Playground progress

Things are busy at SARRC with all the construction and Action for Autism radioathon, there are a lot of people milling about the building.  Here is the latest photo of the playground.  They are putting down the cement blocks for the.... o wait I have no idea what it is for... but it looks good.  I can't wait I get more and more excited each day.

Tuscon 2009

Last weekend I decided to travel back in time. Em, Panda, G, Paul and I decided to get out of Phoenix and visit J to re-live Spring Break.  Hahahaha needless to say I definitely remembered how much fun we have all together and also that I am too old to party like I use too.  We had a great time experiencing all the cool restaurants and bars in Tuscon and I think Jman loved showing us around before he leaves for Washington.  Hopefully we will ALL be able to get together soon for another trip because I sometimes forget how amazing everyone is.  Sorry there are a lot of pictures and I just couldn't decide.

When Emily moves in

Things have definitely hit the fan since Friday....
Emily moved all her stuff into my place because she is staining her cement and let me just tell you, words can barely describe how overwhelming and jam packed my condo is right now.  So I am just going to let the pictures do the talking.
