Getting dolled up

Right after Thanksgiving my Mom and I spoiled ourselves with a little shopping.  Since I am not huge on make up, I really need reminders to go and get new product every year (at least).  We walked into a little make up bar in Kierland and noticed a familiar face at the NARS counter.  We came to find out that we both worked at Nordstorm at the Mall of America and he was from Apple Valley.  After a quick everyday make up demo, I was sold (in reality it doesn't take much to sell me since I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to make up).
I've worn make up almost every weekday since.  I have really enjoyed the compliments and not looking like a 12 year old girl when I walk into a new school.  I might actually get into this whole make up thing. There is nothing wrong with starting a make up trend at the age of 27 right???

When in doubt...

shop!  With all these deals going around I can't help but keep my eye on a few things...
Kate Spade
Nordies
Lulu lemon
Stella and Dot
More Kate Spade
and more Lulu

I guess I'll be working out and accessorizing into the new year.  Bring on 2014!

Bowl Game Madness

It's a sad day when you spend your night together staying in to make dinner and finish your bowl brackets.  I can make a guess that we won't be get the big winnings this year because we definitely spent way too much time over thinking our picks.  I guess we will have to wait and see...
wish us luck :-)

Sharing is caring

That is the name of the game in our condo this week.  On Sunday Sam rescued a dog (Holly) for her parents for Christmas.  Lucy has had an entire week to get use to someone being in her domain and she did quite well.
They spent the week snuggling and taking walks together, all while wagging their tails.  The best part about Holly staying with us is when she stands next to Lucy her big tail hits Lucy in the face.  It is priceless :-)

A mother always knows best

Once again my mother's advice rings true.  I know you're probably not surprised to see me type that up, but it really is true.  I feel as though all adults continue to be reminded of this as they get older.  A few months ago my mom was watching the news and came across a segment on acupuncture and allergies.
On the news segment a doctor in the valley was finding success with getting rid of prescriptions for patients with allergies and asthma after only 5 treatments of acupuncture.   Great sign me up... minus that huge dislike of needles.  After some weeks of convincing, I signed up.  Last week after successfully completing 4 out of 5 sessions, I only needed my allergy pills and Advair 1 day out of 7.  In the last 27 years, I have done that NEVER.  So you know what they say, "a mother always knows best".

Sun Devil for Life

Since football season is over minus the bowl game, we couldn't be more happy about how the Sun Devil season ended (even though we wanted to go to the Rose Bowl).  Most importantly we kept the Territorial Cup in Phoenix and beat U of A.

Somehow Tommy and I are headed to the ASU football banquet tonight due to a connection at Bluemedia.  While I was overwhelmed with what I would wear, you wouldn't believe how much time Tommy spent picking out his outfit.  I am sure we will both be dressed to the best and supporting our Devils.
Bleeding maroon and gold for life!

We Love Santa!!!

I can't wait to see these little girls in a few short weeks.  Minnesota in less than a month.  I can't believe it's been over a year since we were last there.  Don't you worry Santa's elf has already gotten Cade presents despite his feelings for Santa.

Happy Holidays!!!

Prepared fans

We are way to excited for the Pac-12 Championship game on Saturday.  Tommy is probably counting down the days, minutes, hell probably even the seconds.  After Tommy text me with the weather report (40% chance of rain), I made an impulse decision to make sure we were prepared fans.  Since I don't want anything covering up my maroon and gold pride a purchase on Ebay was necessary.
We are officially the proud owners of not one but TWO ASU rain ponchos :-)

Since the game is in Tempe on Saturday, this week has been nothing short of magical with a HUGE win to U of A.  Everywhere I turn I see more ASU pride in the form of bumper stickers, apparel, news stories, text message updates from Tommy (far too often) and much much more.  Hopefully we can both contain our excitement and no one will suffer from a small heart attack before Saturday.  Wish us luck :-)  Goooo Devils!!!

Cader the entertainer!!

After spending a few days with the family, it was pretty fun to see all of Cade's new tricks.  He is just starting to get into golfing (hints the picture) and Grandpa couldn't be more happy.  On Turkey Day he may have been talking about taking him to the putting green.  Just what the Baileys need another golfer, hopefully he has more talent than his aunt.
Cade continues to amaze us and keeps us laughing and man o man that smile just kills me.  Hope everyone had a great weekend filled with turkey and shopping.  Gobble gobble!

Getting organized

After our quick trip to Cali, we tried to settle back into home before we had to head to my parents for Turkey day.  As you can see via this pile of clothes picture with Lucy we didn't make it that far.  We barely got organized before we were off to spend 3 days at my parents (and I can confirm that the mess is worse since we got back).  While I am not prepared for the Holiday season in the slightness, we are definitely busy and having a blast!
On Monday I strolled out to the mailbox, to find this little gem.  The paper is in so I guess it is official!! Megan Bailey, M.ed., BCBA
Wooohoo!!!

Relivin' the college days

Last weekend was sooooo fun!  Which means that since I am 27, I am completely exhausted on a Monday night.  On Friday, Kate and Mike came into town and us girls (plus significant others) headed to The Vig uptown for dinner.  After a yummy dinner we went to meet up with the college boys.
It was great to get the gang back together, it doesn't happen enough.  Hopefully I'll recover by Wednesday :-)

Road Tripping

My crazy boyfriend somehow convinced us to drive to Cali for the UCLA game last week.  After only a week of planning, we left early Saturday morning.  The drive was quick and our hotel was within shuttle distance to the stadium.  We had a blast and I am sure by now everyone has heard that the Sun Devils won and are the Pac 12 South Champs!!  My only compliant is that I didn't take enough pictures, bummer...
and last but not least the best and most exhausted Sun Devil fan, Leah.

A perfect fall weekend

The sock streak continues...

Yesterday Tommy proudly put on his socks.  We all (maybe me more than others) continued to make fun of his goofy socks with the colder weather, but that didn't stop his ASU spirit.  He strutted around on the sideline with pride and ASU once again pulled off another victory. (8-2)
Tommy and Justin cheered on the team from the sidelines, while Jamie and I enjoyed the comfort of our seats.  Talk about a great view for a Saturday night :-)
Last weekend, while talking with some friends at the new brewery we decided to make a plan.  If ASU won last night we would get a hotel, tickets and drive over to Pasadena to watch the ASU/UCLA game.
So all the plans were finalized on the drive home from the game last night (don't worry Tommy was driving).  Early Saturday morning we are looking forward to heading to CA to get another opportunity to cheer on our Sun Devils!! Go ASU!!

Game Day

The weather is absolutely perfect this weekend, in the low 70's.  There are clouds in the sky and we couldn't be more excited for a night football game (I know I am more than excited for boots, not sure if Tommy is as excited).  After taking last night to rest up we are looking forward to spending the evening tailgating with friends and cheering on the Sun Devils!  And yes in case you were wondering Tommy will be wearing his lucky socks...

*Dana I hope your good luck charm is ready for the game as well.  :-)
Go Devils, beat the beavers!

Celebrations

Once again celebrations are in order!!  Last Friday I found out I passed my exam and I am officially a BCBA, yesterday I found out I am the new supervisor of SARRC's school consultation program!  These last few weeks have been crazy and I couldn't have predicted that November would be so exciting.  Tommy and I made sure to celebrate with dinner at Nordstrom's Cafe.  I LOVE Nordstrom Cafe and Tommy now can say he completely agrees with me (but then again that isn't surprising that he would agree with me, right? :-)).
After celebrating with a delicious meal we checked out a few sales around Scottsdale Fashion Square, and I was also celebrating not having a huge stomach ache after eating this gluten filled meal.  It was a win for everyone.

Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend :-)

Hoping for Fall

With the weather in AZ trying to cool down, I am trying to rock boots and leggings but this little peanut pulls it off better than me.  Look at little Sophia all bundled up in a cute jacket that Auntie Meg bought for her :-)  She is just too cute and I am so glad that Tommy and I bought flights to Minnesota for January, regardless of what the weather might bring us.  Not only do we get to spend the day with the Dycks but we also get to attend Emily's bachelorette party, woohoo!  I hope everyone is enjoying the chilly weather and getting into some holiday cheer, I know we are definitely trying to down in the desert.

Dallas Bound

To say that we had a great time in Dallas would be an understatement, we had a fantastic time.  We quickly found out that while our hotel was a little bit questionable, Dallas actually had a lot to offer.

Andra, Andrew (also known as Aundrew) Tommy, Jordan, Lindsey and I headed to Dallas on the red eye on Thursday night.  We slept in on Friday and explored Arlington Friday, once Panda and G got into town.  On Friday night we headed to meet up with the Baileys in Fort Worth and decided to go country.  After a delicious dinner and a few drinks on the street, we headed to Billy Bob's.
Saturday we spent our day tailgating and watching football and I even managed to run into Sara at the game.
We finished our trip off with exploring Uptown Dallas on Sunday including manicures, shopping and football.  You really can't beat that combination :-)

Walk Now for Autism Speaks!

Last weekend we had our annual Autism Walk and I was blown away by the donations this year.  I still can't believe how thoughtful, caring and generous people can be.  Here were just some of our totals from this year.

My goal: $2,200--- I actually raised $2,590
My team's goal: $5,000--- we actually raised $8,255.44
SARRC's goal: $25,000--- we actually raised $30,334
Walk total: $408,797

Tommy, Mom, Ali and Cade all came out to walk and support SARRC.  We were lucky enough to even be able to meet up with some friends.  It was a great opportunity to catch up with old families and co-workers.  It was an extremely successful walk for SARRC and I can't wait to help and provide services to more families in the following years.

Thanks again for all your donations!!

Fall Festivities

The past few weeks have been full of festive fun, between football games, Halloween, friends, family and of course more than enough work, we have been busy.  This week has been nothing short of great.
Starting off with the most adorable trick or treater (sorry I am extremely bias, I really know everyone is just as cute, like this little peanut).
Great news for Lucy is that we were so busy, she did not have to ensue any doggie costume torture.  Instead of handing out candy we headed downtown to watch the ASU game with a few friends (in 3 years I have never had a trick or treater).  ASU kept the good luck weekend going by having an on the road victory, what a great Halloween!!!
Go Devils!!!
