Pepperonis

For awhile now Tommy and I have loved making our own pizzas at home.  Fresh and Easy has a gluten free crust, which helps making pizza at home sooo cheap and convenient.  We probably shoot for pizza night at least once every two weeks (at least).  Now I know I said we, but let's be honest 95% of the time it's Tommy that makes the pizzas.  He knows I love eating the extra pepperonis so every time he tries to save a few for me.  A while ago he even made pizza when I was gone with my girlfriends for dinner and when I got home there was a handful of pepperonis waiting for me in the refrigerator in a bag.
Last week Tommy even made a special pre-dinner treat.  Man o man the little things in life always seem to make a person feel special.

Birthday Love

While my actual birthday didn't turn out exactly how we had planned, it was still a good one.  Filled with balloons, shopping, burgers, fries, ice cream and cake.
I am looking forward to whatever 28 has to offer :-)

Party time... excellent!

Champagne... check.  Hair blown out... check.  Make up done... check.
On Saturday we were ready to celebrate one of Emmy's last single weekends.  We made sure to spoil ourselves before the fiesta began, by getting all primped up (definitely worth all the money).  We (Jess, Em and I) just had to slip into our dresses and head to the party.  It was great to meet all Emmy's target/MN friends and to catch up with ones I had met the last time I was in town.
It was even better being able to have plenty of time to catch up with one of my longest friendships (25 years).  I am definitely looking forward to sharing a condo in Cabo with Jess and Mitch as well.  A week to relax will definitely bring many more memories to share.
I loved seeing Em in her MN scene and even more importantly to see her so happy.  Two more weeks till the festivities begin for the big day.  Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Slates!!!

LUSH

A few weekends ago when we were in Minnesota, Em and I were shopping on France Ave.  After a sangria at Barrio with Tommy, us girls went looking for a few sales.  Cocktails, shopping and your best friend are quite possibly the best combo.  Em wanted to introduce me to LUSH, which is an organic handmade cosmetic store.  I quickly fell in love with their ocean salt rub (which is perfect for my eczema on the back of my arms).  After only a few minutes in LUSH it was clear to see I was in the company of an expert/regular.  Em knew all the things to get and had nothing but raving reviews about everything (and the staff was super friendly).  While I walked out of the store with only two items, I will definitely be back.  The best news yet is that there is a LUSH in the Chandler and Scottsdale malls in AZ.
Thanks Emmy for the expert shopping advice.

Changes

Recently a got  a promotion and heard news that I would be moving to a new department.  Since I have been with SARRC since college this was extremely exciting.

And like most people, while change is good it can be completely scary.  I have loved every position I've been thrown into whether it was in the home, the community school, remote or now out in public schools.  As always as the time drew closer I got more and more nervous about trying something new.

As I was tying up all kinds of loose ends, the month flew by and before I knew it it was time to say goodbye.  Last week I wrapped up with families that I had been with for years.  I wasn't actually sure what to expect.  Most of these kids did not talk when I first met them.

So as I  closed a door on another chapter at SARRC, I gave a hug to my last client and family and slowly walked to the door.  I was proud of myself for not crying or being afraid of the future.  Little did I know what the future held in store.  My client looked at me and said "Thanks for always playing with me" and after a few more steps I heard "Love you Meg".

I bit my lip and tears weld in my eyes, I knew I was ready for the change...

and even more importantly I knew I had seen a change.

Enjoying Sunday

There is nothing better than being able to sleep in on the weekend.  Tommy took Lucy and kept her busy while I slept.  They even built a fort hahaha.  Daddy Daughter morning seemed to be a success :-)
