My Weekend Plans

It's almost time

My super prego sister is probably thinking it is way past time but Ali is finally under the one month mark and looking fantastic.  After visiting Minnesota and seeing more cute babies, I think I am ready to be Auntie Snackster (it's a hard job but someone has got to do it).
Some friends and I had a fun time at trivia last night, thought we would try to do something different.  While we did not win, of course was fun to try something new.  Just trying to make it through the week, even if it was a short one...

More announcements

There was definitely lots of action and movement this weekend with a few of my wonderful friends/couples.

On Friday when we landed in Minnesota, I had a voicemail from Gillean from Eric's phone.  I thought that was a little weird and that something definitely had to be going on, so I called Gill and Eric back as soon as possible.  I was pleasantly surprised to hear the great news that Eric had proposed and even better that Gill said yes.

Also Christy and Esteven finally leaked their big news and shared some adorable pictures of Baby G.  (due to arrive December 25, 2012, how exciting)  Congrats to two amazing couples and four amazing friends!!  Can't wait to celebrate!!!

A fantastic weekend getaway

Just settled down home to begin unpacking and making dinner after a great weekend.  Minnesota was filled with Twins games, food and drinks.  Tommy and I had a blast hanging out with Em and we were more than excited to meet up with my high school girlfriends this morning.  It was soooo exciting to see all of them in the next stage of life, with cute little babies (soooo happy for them).  We are exhausted and hungry, off to make dinner.  Enjoy the pictures!!

Baseball Wednesday

In order to not count down every single second until my vacation starts today, I tried to keep busy this week. Cullen, Becky, Tommy and I headed to Chase Field to watch the D'backs play.  A good friend from college, Jordan works for one of the D'backs minor league teams, so he has been so thoughtful to hook us up with some tickets.  On Wednesday the D'backs were playing the Dodgers and boy were those boys ready to hit.  We enjoyed many runs and a few beers, a hot dog, a corn dog and a pretzel (don't worry, this is collectively not just me).  Got to love a little baseball junk food (Snacks :-))
Last night 15 friends or so went to the Vig in Uptown to catch some dinner together before Memorial Day weekend.  We hadn't all gotten together since Tyler's last few days in AZ, so it was definitely due.  Since quite a few people are leaving this weekend (some to Austin, Minnesota and California) we decided all to enjoy some drinks and food before everyone went their separate ways.  Great idea!!
What are you doing this holiday weekend?

Nothing better than a handbag...

by now I think everyone knows about my LOVE for handbags.  While some handbags can be expensive, I really think of it as more of a investment (I mean you use it everyday right?).  Here are some of my favorites...
from Coach

Some cute clutches

And a few more

Let the countdown begin!

I am counting down the days... 4 days

or maybe the hours... 89 hours

or the minutes... 5340 minutes

never the less I am excited!!

Tommy and I are headed to Minnesota for Memorial Day Weekend and we couldn't be more pumped up.  Our tour guide Emily Lentz has got our entire weekend planned and we are hoping to be able to fit everyone in.
So here is our current agenda...
Friday:  arrive at 12pm-- take the light rail downtown to meet Emily and Mike
Saturday:  work out with Emmy, go see Lynette, Tory and Sophia for lunch, dinner in uptown somewhere funky
Sunday: yoga again with Emmy, Twins game
Monday: brunch with my girlfriends and their babies (Lynette and Rachel) and flying home at 1pm
(cousin Mikey is in Minnesota this weekend too, so we are still trying to plan to meet up sometime)

I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait.....

Sunday, Sunday

Can't we have just one more day to rest?  Sunday completely wiped me out.  Since the hike on Saturday seemed a little easy, Loomer and I decided to be daredevils and try the moderate to difficult hike.  We started on the Mormon trail and took another hikers advice and tried Mormon loop, then we got on National trail.  After being a little unsure if Mormon and National would meet up again we decided to turn all the way back and head home.
With a total of 6 miles and 3 hours later, we were exhausted.  Instead of heading home we decided to stop and try a new breakfast spot instead.  So we went to the Farm at South Mountain (Morning Glory Cafe).  While I have heard numerous things about how good this place is, I am glad to say all the rumors are true.  This little farm is hidden away on Southern and 32nd and I can honestly say it didn't even feel like Arizona (minus towards the end when our table was completely in the sun).
The hike was great, breakfast was tasty and we even won another softball game.  The weekend was a success even though I wish I had one more day to rest up.  Let the countdown begin 5 days until Memorial Day weekend in Minnesota, can't wait!!!

South Mountain

The softball friends tried something new yesterday. We all woke up before 7 on a Saturday and met at Beverly Canyon Trail on South Mountain. While our hike was a little easier than we expected, it was good to not meet up at a bar. After our hike we heading to breakfast at Loomer's favorite place, Hillside Cafe! It was delicious and hit the spot after a long hike. We set my camera on a timer, hints why the first few shots are funny. Then we finally ran into someone to take our picture. Loomer and I are heading to do a harder hike this morning. Wish me luck....

One word...

DELICIOUS!!!!
The Strawberry Poppyseed Salad!!
Everyone knows I might be addicted to overpriced Paradise Bakery (and maybe due to the sugar cookies alone) but I can honestly say that I met Katie for dinner tonight...

1st off... I tried something new

2nd off... I didn't have a sugar cookie with dessert

3rd off... It's Friday!!

Yea!!!

Could they be any cuter...

As Ali's due date approaches she asked me for cute baby picture ideas... and man o man do I have some ideas, opinions, thoughts, suggestions some might even say I am over involved.  But.....Ali did ask.....and she did take my first advice to have Allison Anne Johnson take some pictures when Cade arrives.  Allison's sister is one of my bosses and not only is she a fantastic photographer but her prices are extremely reasonable, check her blog out.  While I couldn't be more excited for Cade to be here and have his pictures taken, here are some of my favorite baby shots.
