March Maddness...

Never have I worked somewhere were so many girls actually care about sports and I LOVE IT!!  Since Katie and Dana's teams were in the elite 8, I had to decorate their desks on Friday!!!  So I brought out the red and blue decorations.
Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!!!  After a long week at work....... all my co-workers (aka the reason why I LOVE work) and I decided to get together to hang out at Majerle's and watch the KU game.
Little did I know I was going to the bar with the #1 fans ever to graduate from KU.  Katie and Dana were unlike any other fans.  After only hanging out for a few short hours, I had a whole new respect for them.
I didn't/don't know too many people who love where they went to college as much as I until I met them :-).
Too top off my Friday U of A finally got what they deserved (sorry LeeAnne and Caca).  Let the March Maddness continue, Go Louisville!!

This would only happen to me...

Let me just start by saying that the moral of this story is not that I lost my mailbox keys again (because I lose everything) no, no, no!!  It is more important, what happen after I lost my keys (despite what my mama says). Just trust me.....

So I am driving home from my home visit yesterday, just cruising down 51 when I think I should try to run a few errands and get some things done since I am home before 5.  So I make plans to run to target, pick up prescriptions, get gas and then call the locksmith because I lost my keys a few weeks ago and I am sure my mail is out of control.  So I call the locksmith and they are planning on coming at 5. (which is perfect because that is just enough time before I meet the SARRCie's for dinner)

Jess and I headed to meet the locksmith at the mailboxes because I am scared to go by myself and this guy comes to fix the box...... so 10 minutes pass by and it is obvious that he is struggling, it looks to be a tricky lock.  He then proceeds to go to his car and get he's super cutter, they looked something like this.......
When he comes back I am sure that Jess and I had concerned/worried faces because I was a little nervous to see what he was going to do next.  A few more minutes pass and before I know it he is holding the super cutters with my mailbox door in pieces in his hand.  Needless to say I no longer have a mail box, it is more of a open mail slot.  The door is ripped off and laying in pieces on my counter top.
So the moral of the story is don't send me anything and maybe......don't lose your keys.

What Heaven Might Be Like.....

So there is definitely something I can't live without and it is what Heaven might even possibly look like but I can't live without the clothing store Anthropologie.
Majority of the time I have to save every penny and hit the sale rounders when I go here, but I absolutely without a doubt LoVe this store.  If I could drink wine, blog, eat fudge and shop here for the rest of eternity my life might be perfect.  There is nothing I like more then the adorable unique clothes that are so different than anywhere else.  So if you've never been, I would highly recommend it!!

*Thanks to my Auntie for showing me the best store almost 8 years ago*

CROCS= the worst thing ever invented

Who decided hey one day I am going to invent the (so called comfiest) shoes and yes they are going to be as ugly as possible?  As a teacher we all know that these wonderful inventions CROCS are Huuuge at school.  In order to be the cool kid you have to make sure you have a couple pairs.

Lately I've noticed a problem, as my 23 year old friend also thinks that these shoes are the coolest trend.  Just to make things worst she wears them everywhere (even in public) and hers of course  are a lovely shade of brown with the fuzzy lining (My favorite).  I won't show any faces with these gross CROCS, I'll leave the guessing up to you.....
If you see these CROCS lying around just do it (throw them away)

Please everyone (especially over the age of 12) think before you buy, hhahahaha!

ML 2009: Day 1

So far so good..... I've made it!!!  My cell phone has been off for almost 24 hours.  I am not going to lie it has been difficult, weird and definitely a lot more quiet but all in a nice way.  First off I can't believe that my phone has actually been turned off lying on my nightstand and I haven't every thought about turning it on once.

My commute to work ALWAYS starts off with a phone call home, to Mom and Dad.
----It was extremely strange without going over my previous day and future plans with Mom.  I missed hearing, "Well I guess that's all I know..."-Kathy Bailey  After having realized @ 7:30am I was already missing my phone I turned up the Ipod, put on the sunglasses, opened the sun roof and enjoyed the gorgeous sunshine of an AZ morning.

Of course during the work day it was pretty easy to forget about not having a cell phone.  My day was filled with project after project and an amazing yogurt treat from Mojo's (check it out it is the BEST) with my favorite girlies.
----At lunch it was sad to be the only one not catching up with loved ones but it was great not to have a phone at work.  I can honestly say I didn't waste any time texting at work (although I have to confess that I definitely probably spent more time than normal writing Em emails instead)

My night was filled with tutoring, catching up with Em, dinner, blogging and bed!!
----All and all a pretty interesting Day 1 of the ML Tribute, who knows how I will miss my cell phone tomorrow or what I might enjoy more because I am not talking, checking email or texting on my phone.

HAPPY EARLY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!! (One of my favorite holidays :-)

I am really excited to see what the rest of the week brings with no cell phone...... wait and see....

Tribute to ML 2009

So starting tomorrow I am trying something new.  Em's dad has never had a cell phone and I think it is amazing!!  My goal starting tonight at midnight is to not use my cell phone for one week.  I am borderline excited for the challenge.  Here's a few things I am going to do instead of using my phone....
1. Working out
2. Cooking
3.  Blogging
4. Game night
5. Tutoring

So if you need to get a hold of me try the landline.  I'll have my phone in case of an emergency until then... talk to you the 22nd. :-)  Talk about doing without....

Wish me luck....

A Great Day for a Ride

This weekend has really been the kickoff to an amazing summer.  I know it's a little early to be calling it summer but it is just perfect weather in AZ.  Em and I started our day off by jumping into our sun dresses and went for a bike ride.  The ASU bikes finally got some use when we headed to a BBQ competition.  The food was sooooo delicious!!  We had lot of fun doing something different and enjoying the sun.  I absolutely LOVE this time of year, when it is warm enough to ride around, my freckles are popping out everywhere and you can't help but take in the amazing citrus smell from the farm down the street.  Ahhh I love Chandler!  The weekends just aren't long enough....

A wedding celebration

So the Blue Crew got together to celebrate Steph and Branon's wedding!!!  Congrats!!!  Em needed a hot date to their wedding last Saturday so who else would she invite but little old me :-)
The reception was in a cute little grove in Mesa.  The night was a blast...filled with friends, laughter, dancing, (to a horrible D.J.) amazing food and photos.  Who will be the next to bite the dust???

What can you live without?

Oprah once again ceases to amaze!!  If there is something important I've learned from my Mom it is always treat others with respect and watch Oprah. While some of you might not know I DVR Oprah and Ellen everyday and watch them whenever I get a chance.  Oprah had an amazing show on Monday and asked the viewers a great question..... What can you live without??
I challenge everyone and myself to quit buying things I/they can't afford or don't need.  I am going to try to look around and see what I can live without.  Life will definitely be less stressful, cluttered and I will definitely save some money. :-)  On the show families quit buying their kids toys and clothes (I can't believe I am saying this but just think Mom).  The kids were still happy and were more appreciative when they did get stuff.  There were three last things that Oprah challenged viewers to and those were....
1. Don't spend any money for one day......(easy)
2. Don't use a credit card for a week.... (easy)
3. Don't go out to eat for a month.....(this is my next challenge)
Don't you wonder if you could do it???
So ask yourself..... What can I live without?

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!

I have the best relatives in the world!!!  I was reminded that when I had dinner with my parents on Sunday.  Not only was I able to see my parents and enjoy yummy Oreganos, I also received my favorite surprise from Aunt Karen.  There is nothing I enjoy more than getting a big GLAD tupperware filled to the brim with my favorite treat.......
FUDGE!!!!  My Aunt makes the best fudge in the world and I love to have a piece or two (or three) after dinner. It reminds me of my crazy cousins :-)
So Thank you Auntie!!!  You are the very best, Hope all is well in Washington and it isn't too cold.  Huge Hugs and Kisses from sunny AZ!!!  Love and Miss you all, Megs
P.S. Thanks Mom for delivering the care package all the way from Washington
