My condo the disaster

So the tile has begun and my crap is in every room but my bedroom.  I seriously have piles of crap in my bathroom, patio, spare bedroom, kitchen, living room.  Yep that is my bed in the middle of my living room.  Here is the mess so far......
But the tile is coming along and looks great!! :-)
I can't believe that in less than a week Jess and Em will move all their stuff to my place so they can do all their floors, ahhhhhh! When will this mess be over??

Amazing concerts

This past week has been filled with musical fun.  We headed to Kings of Leon Tuesday night for an amazing concert.  I can not even put into words how awesome the venue was in downtown Mesa.  It was a perfect night that reminded me how much I love Arizona.
Em and I had a blast and actually ran into quite a few people at the concert.
Here are some photos and good clips of some of my favorite songs.
"Crawl"

"Use Somebody"

Exciting News

We had a little team building about a week ago.  We decided to head to the bowl alley for a little bit of competitive bowling, as always with anything we do.  (trust me a bunch of type A girls hanging out it can get a little aggressive)  It was great to relax, goof around and catch up.  I spent most of my time sitting next to Jen with our sweet new bowling shoes remembering old times and how long we have worked together.
We talked about food, work and our favorite twins.  Little did I know the huge secret Jen was keeping from me.........
On Monday Jen finally spilled the beans!  It's official I can finally spread the news.  Jen is having a BABY!!!  CONGRATS Jen and Derrick!!!  You guys will be amazing parents, I can't wait!!  We are all so excited at work and look forward to what lies ahead. Check out Jenny's new cute family blog.....it's super cute!  Love ya Jen!

A Rainy Day

Progress was a little bit slower this week on the playground.  It actually rained quite a few days this past week so they weren't able to work as much.  It looks like they are still working on the sun shades but who knows.  I need to get in on the construction gossip so I can keep the blog update to date....I'll work on that next week!!  Yea for a 3 day weekend!!  Enjoy your break girlies!

Plenty of time to think...

So I am in the progress of moving everything in my bedroom into my living room or spare bedroom and let me tell you it is a mess.  The tile layers come tomorrow bright and early, I am so excited to get rid of all my stinking carpet, wooohooo!!!!  So I decided to take a break from cleaning out my room and blog.

So on Wednesday I was heading to work as always at 7:00am because I had to be there early to set up the classroom.  (If you live in Phoenix you might already know this but....)  There was a huge accident on the I-10 so it took me an hour and a half to get to work instead of 30 minutes max.  There was a point in my ride where my car did not move for 20 minutes.  So after I called the teachers to warn them about the traffic and tell them I would be late, I turned up the music rolled down my windows and enjoyed AZ for an hour or two.

I learned something new on my way to work today as I sat behind the Sara Lee truck.  Remember those delicious Sara Lee snacks??  I have always thought their motto was, "Nobody does it like Sara Lee", and on this faithful day I come to learn that I have been misinformed for the last 23 years.  The motto is actually "Nobody doesn't like Sara Lee". (which I found out by starring at the back of this truck all the way to work)  I was shocked and devastated to find out that I had thought the wrong thing my entire life.  Then I started to wonder how many other things in my life are like this....I know I know...

...this is what way to much time on your hands will do (darn traffic).
So I finally got over this new found knowledge after a few days and then I went to watch the NBA finals and Dbacks game at a friend's house last night.

We were talking about ASU softball doing so well and how 7 teams from the pac-10 are in the college world series.  I then asked.... How many teams are in the pac-10?  Once again my mind is blown away that there are 10 teams in the pac-10, hints the name.  Yep, you guessed it right, Big Ten (also ten teams), Big 12 (12 teams)!!  I've always known ASU was in the pac-10 but never once thought "hey I wonder what pac-10 stands for"?  Amazing the things that you learn out of college   :-) Seriously 23 years on this planet and somedays I just wonder what else I have been missing out on.

Just incase anyone needed some useless knowledge or a good laugh I thought I would share my mind blowing week with you.

Alright now I am off to finishing moving stuff and hopping in the shower... then off to pick up Caca for the Fleetwood Mac concert, can't wait!!  Happy Sunday!!!  I am so pumped that I still have another full day of vacation, Hope your enjoying yours!

Trying something new

I am heading off to try something new this morning.  I am grabbing Em's bike and water pack and meeting up with JG & BB to mountain bike South Mountain.  I tried going last weekend, but it was 105 and people had a little to much to drink the night before so the ride was cut short.  Today I am excited to go, get a good work out and of course to try something new.  Hopefully I won't be to far behind the guys.
So check me out.... sweet bike, helmet and camelpack.... wish me luck!
Check out the view (mind you I will be a lot lower as a beginner, hahaha but I'll be on the same mountain, I think)

Plans for the weekend

So I have had a little bit of writer's block lately (hints very few blogs) I really hope to step out of it real soon......

While it seems that everyone is heading out of town for Memorial Day Weekend  (Reno, Vegas, CA) I sat last night looking and wishing for a good deal for a spur of the moment vacation.  Needless to say I came to the conclusion that it would just be much easier to stay in town and enjoy Phoenix.  Since it has been raining off and on for the last few days, I sometimes forget what else there is left too do.
So here are my ideas to have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend...
finally catch up on photos and blogging
finish organizing my living
clean my bedroom and bathroom for the tile installers (they start Tuesday)
hike the falls by Strawberry Lodge
go to the Fleetwood Mac concert
install knobs on my cabinets
practice guitar
go through teaching stuff for next year
lay in the sun while reading a book

Ahhhh TGIF.....
I'll give you a quick update of the weekly progress of the SARRC playground later today....it's coming along!!  Let me know if anyone has any great ideas for the weekend to add to my list.  Until then Happy Friday and I hope everyone tries something new like I plan on doing :-)

One week in

So I've decided to give weekly updates of the progress of our playground.  Mostly because some people might be interested and also because I am sooooo excited I can't wait.  So all the taking down of the old stuff is done and they started working on pipes and the water system this week.  Here is what it looks like one week later....
...until next week.

Christmas all week

aka Teacher Appreciation Week.  This week at work has been fantastic!!
It has been filled with underwear, lotion, donuts, pei wei, coffee, necklaces, cupcakes and to finish the week decorations.  Our parents are amazing and show us how much they care about us all the time.  This week has been no exception and has been filled with little things to show how grateful they are for everything my co-workers and I do :-)  I love our families and I love what I do!!  Here are some cute pictures of us enjoying our decorated desks.
Kris enjoying her flamingo! (Yep she's got a blog too, check it)
My cute desk!!
Crazy Jen and Lee (Check out their amazing blogs here and here)
You really should check their blogs out because they are amazing!
All the community school teachers and Melissa!! :-)  TGIF

Check it out

Life isn't....

very exciting lately.  Sorry no recent posts I have seriously spent the week cleaning, redecorating, tutoring, practicing guitar, sleeping and eating.  I have spent numerous hours practicing and practicing guitar.  I am pretty sure I am not getting any better but man o man do my fingers hurt and I can play a MEAN "If your happy and you know it".  My goal was to be able to play tomorrow at circle but I just don't know if that is in my future just yet (maybe for music week).
I want nothing more than to be able to play at circle and at my cabin in Montana around the campfire, hopefully by then I will be playing something a little more exciting than "If your happy and you know it" or else I fear I might have to sleep outside.

Also I have been working on redoing my bedroom with my money from the Easter Bunny.  Em and I painted or should I say rag rollered my purple wall in my bedroom with silver (trust me it looks better than it sounds)  and I love it!!  I had a guy come out and check out my room for tile or wood floors.  Hopefully the estimate isn't tooo high and I can actually get rid of my carpet :-) We will have to wait and see.  (I will post a pic of the new room soon no worries)

*Great News:  Since I always am talking about concerts and live music Em and I were discussing who we would love to see in concert.  While the list goes on and on for the longest time now I have said that I would cut off my two arms to see Fleetwood Mac in concert.  Then "BAM" I heard they were heading to Phoenix and I knew this might be my last chance to ever see them (assuming they stop doing tours due to old age).  So I was sadden to find out how expensive and out of my league the tickets were, I was finally coming to terms that I was not going to the concert (seriously I checked Ticketmaster on Friday just to make sure there was no fluke in the price) when "BAM" my parents can't use their tickets and look who is the only child in Phoenix.  WOOOOHOOOOO!!!  So needless to say GREAT news I get to keep both my arms and attend the concert May 24th.  This definitely made my week and quite possibly my year I'll tell you after May 24th.

Some new goals or exciting news...

So there has been lots of changes in my fam lately.  My family finally brought a house in AZ :-), and that means we are moving out of MN for good. :-(  My rents are trying to get ALL their stuff together and head south and it is definitely taking more time than they thought or wanted.  So that is kind of exciting.....

I've decided that I want to learn something new.  Something came over me and I decided to borrow my sis's guitar, THANKS AL, while she was out of town so I could teach myself how to play.  It officially starts today and let me tell you, I've got C chord down like no one's business.  I can not wait to play at circle time and look at all the kiddos faces.  Hahahaha we will see.  So that is kind of exciting......
I am finally starting some more home decorating and I am starting with my bedroom.  I first want to tile my bedroom.  Like they always say your mom is always right.  When I first got my condo she said to tile my entire place (it would be better for my allergies).  Of course I thought it was weird but like always I've changed my mind and I am listening to my mother.  So this is kind of exciting.....

The biggest and latest news is that a friend and I bought a VW Bus.  It is classy and was definitely made before I was even born but man is it going to be amazing when were done with it.  It will definitely turn into a little ASU tailgating machine come this fall.  Dream Big!!!  Here is a picture of what it looks like (not actual) So that is kind of exciting....
Lastly coming up, I am traveling a lot with graduations, work parties, runs and trips home and to Montana I absolutely can not wait.  I can not wait to be here....
in 2 months.... then here 2 days after....
  and then back here again....
for a wedding.  It may be my last summer in MN (in our house of course) so got to make it worth it....
