The perfect weekend

Low key was the name of this weekend. We didn't do much of anything and it was perfect in every way.  Tommy and I did my favorite thing on Friday night.  Window shopping in the mall and dinner for two.  We finally found Tommy a new Cardinals hat (thank goodness we can finally get rid of the ugly other one).  I was going to take a picture of it but I won't put you loyal bloggers through that, instead you can see the new hat.   Looking good!!!
I found some great things on sale at Nordstroms, Baby G's baby shower present was complete with a small little treat for Cade (and Ali)...
We spent our Saturday watching football and playing with the doggies (doggie sat for our cousin Izzy) so her mom and dad could go celebrate the big one year anniversary.  Congrats Ali and Ad!
...and we are winding down the rest of our Sunday with grocery shopping and more football.  Thank goodness the Cardinals pulled out a victory so I can have a happy boyfriend!  Happy Sunday!!

Lucky ducky

I've been meaning to blog about this for sometime but just haven't got around to it but after we got back from vacation in Montana I got a suspicious text from my Aunt. It said "can you get packages at work?",  I wasn't actually sure how to respond. Of course I can get packages at work but I can also get packages at home. Needless to say I forgot about the text a few days later and was excited when a package arrived right before a Friday meeting. I quickly opened it up and was pleasantly surprised.... my favorite treat it the whole while world.
And not just any old FUDGE but homemade fudge from Aunt K. Yum Yum Yum!!! One bag down and one left to go (I am saving it in the freezer).

Busy

I've spent every waking second studying!!!
Folding laundry and studying...
Cleaning and studying...
Working out and studying...
Cooking and studying...
Working and studying...
Listening to music and studying...
Eating and studying...

while Lucy seems to have a one track mind...
Do you think if she stares at it harder she will be able to lick it clean?
I mean talk about a one track mind.

Only a few more days left of studying... then I hope to have my normal life back without my coffee IVin place.

Devil in training

Cade is sporting his ASU gear nation wide and look he has almost got his fork, Go Devils! (his aunt needs to get him more options than the same old onesie).

Making dreams come true

One ASU fan at a time...or should I say four ASU fans at a time. Tommy and I had a double date night to celebrate Andra's birthday a little early. We decided to share our new favorite thing to do (Thirsty Lion High Octane Hour) with two more ASU fans, Andra and Andrew. We had a blast and met some players and Todd Graham and his family. Another great night... I am one lucky girl, Go Devs!!

Long day...

filled with studying and bursts of reinforcement...
During some of my breaks I went online browsing for my adorable nephew (I miss him).  I've got his fall wardrobe planned.

Becky's Birthday

Last week we headed north to celebrate Becky's birthday.   Although I am not sure how we fit everything in, I think it's safe to say we ALL enjoyed Becky's special day.  The boys went golfing (shocking I know).  While Ali, Becky and I went and got facials.  It was relaxing and more than half the attendees were so exhausted they fell asleep during the facial.  Becky and the gang finished off her day with dinner at one of her favorite places (Mirabel) and there was definitely a group consensus that the food was amazing.  We enjoyed a night of great company (the Springers and Buchmanns) came too, and of course we had cupcakes for dessert.  Happy Birthday Becky!!
**Side note: ASU lost to Missouri on Saturday night, we aren't undefeated anymore but onto the next game.  Utah this weekend... we have sideline passes :-) can't wait**

Jinxed.

I was driving home from a clients house today. Excited to have the afternoon to work from home (my afternoon client cancelled). I was thinking about how I would take a picture of blue beauty (my car I've had since junior year of high school) and blog about how nice it was to have her back and running again. No longer did I think this for 5 minutes when blue beauty turned off and the wheel locked up. Luckily I was able to get off to the side of the HOV lane and waited for Triple A (and yes I had my card in my wallet; lesson learned from last time). After a few short hours I was leaving the Nissan dealership with a loaner. I am rocking a nice mini mini van these days--- rocking in style. At least I have wheels I guess.

Aunt snackie

...was in full force today. While my family constantly makes fun of my eating habits, I have actually become a much better eater in my old age. But today my brother reminded me how easy it is to fall back into bad habits. We headed over to Becky and Cullen's to watch a little football today and we were surprised with lots of snackie football food (they even got taquitos for the Mexican boyfriend). Cullen had also picked up some of my old time favorites like gushers and handi snacks (and yes I might have ate the whole box today). Thank goodness for a little spoiling and more importantly for Pilates tomorrow morning!!

Exploring New Orleans: Saturday

Someone on the trip came up with the best idea...a three hour bike tour.  While the verdict is still out on whether the bike tour was a little too long, it was definitely fun and very interesting to learn about New Orleans.  We cruised around NO learning about the culture, history and saw just a little bit of the damage from Hurrican Issac (the entire French Quarter didn't have any power and it was day four).  I was surprised at how friendly people still were given the circumstances.
After a little exercise and knowledge, we headed back to our hotel to rest up and get ready for dinner.  All the girls did the standard bachelorette protocol and put on black dresses while Kate put on the cutest NEON dress.  We played some games in the lobby before dinner and then headed out to Bourbon Street.
