Christmas events

Christmas was a little different this year, here are just a few reasons why...
1. Christmas was held in AZ!!!
2. It rained all day
3. Grandma beat everyone but Ali in Wii bowling
4. Cullen wasn't here
5. No Christmas skit was performed prior to opening presents
6. We went to church in the middle of no where
7. I did not know any of the presents :-(
8. Santa didn't come......yet

But yet still another great Christmas.
The past few days have been filled with hours and hours of family time.  I spent Christmas Eve with Ali, Mom and Dad.  We made cookies and opened just one present. (we are waiting for Cullen to fly south on the 27th to open the rest)  We got up early Christmas day to make the drive to go to church in New River.  Later Grandma, Bill, Judy, Ali, Travis, Mom and Dad and I got together for late lunch and the Wii competition.  The commentator (Dad) was a little out of hand.  Lots of good gopher and golf gifts were given at the Bailey Christmas this year.  Ali and I are anxiously awaiting Cullen's arrival so Santa will finally come.  I haven't uploaded any pictures of the Christmas events yet, so here are just a few old school Christmas photos of times with the  cousins.  We are an interesting looking bunch, hahaha!!  Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!!  (and a Happy Hanukkah)

My friend the Dramatic Squirrel

So some of you might not know but I love YouTube!!  Em is constantly sending me new YouTube videos from work and then I pass them along to my friends.  One of my favorite videos is the dramatic squirrel.  I can play and laugh over and over at this video.  If you have never seen this video, watch it quick.....
So this weekend Emily kept giving me looks from across the room so slowly but surely, it turned into Em trying to be the dramatic squirrel so here is our video of Emily the dramatic squirrel.
Enjoy!!!

EM'S 23rd birthday!!!

So we didn't know what to do for Em's birthday and it was approaching at a rapid pace. Em and I were thinking, when you turn 23 it is just nothing like your 21st birthday, (Ahhh the memories) our minds were completely changed after a FUN night with all our college friends.  We went bowling and things got a little bit competitive.  Everyone together celebrating and having sooo many laughs together.

Ugly Sweater Party 2008- A night to remember

The 3rd annual Ugly Sweater Party was this past weekend and man o man there were some interesting outfits.  This is what I choose to rock.  (compliments of Collyn and her stylish mom)
And this  is what Em choose to wear.....  (also compliments of Collyn and her mom, and also rocking Tommy's shades)
I mean what kind of party has there own friend D.J., only the boys....
Another cool thing about friends that work at a printing company is they are able to make a banner for a party like you see on the red carpet.  (Also they make life-size cutouts of best friends for FREE)
So here is a pic of Em and I just as we arrived at the party.
And then the party began..... music, dancing and good times!
Another memorable night with the bluemedia boys and so many funny stories!
Party On!!

SCS Book Club

Kristin and I at work were feeling ambitious one day at work and since we both love to read we decided to start a book club.  We took a list of popular books (about 100 or so) and started reading.  We quickly found out that first off we made a bad selection on our first book and second off our lives are a lot busier than we thought.  Anyways here is our past book selection for the SARRC Community School Book Club, Emma by: Jane Austin.
Yep and the cover of the book definitely speaks for itself.  Definitely a little bit slower than I thought but all and all I would give it a C-
Look out for our next book: The bluest eye by: Toni Morrison

Weekend tailgating

So my weekend was busy as always and once again it went by way to fast.  I have some amazing pictures from an ugly sweater party and pictures from a bowling fiesta that I will upload soon but until then here are a few pictures from the Bailey Family Tailgate.  The Vikes played the Cards so Mom, Dad, Ali and I went to the game.  It was a blast and my first NFL game.  The day consisted of lots of food and snacks, lots of cheering and even Mom taking tequila shots with the neighborhood tailgators, hahaha!  It seemed that everyone was at the game, Phoenix, Pat, Tibs, Brittany, Larson and Leeanne I mean who knew there were so many fans.  I had a blast and needless to say the Vikes kicked butt and toke home a victory, woooohooo!!

Sister's birthday!

It was Ali's brithday on Tuesday so the fam plus Emily got together to celebrate.  I am really starting to like that my parents live in Anthem because then we are able to drive a few minutes to get together.  We all met at Ali's place (super cute house) and mom cooked her AMAZING lasgana (my favorite).  We enjoyed some wine and had plenty of laughs.  Thank goodness for leftovers :-)  Glad we could celebrate your birth sister.   By the way it is also Em's birthday today.  HAPPPPPYYY BIRTHDAY budddy!!!!!

SUNDEVIL FOR LIFE!!!

So it is official I have taken my love for Arizona State to a whole new level or should I say a whole new mode of transportation.  Keep your eyes peeled if you live in Chandler because you might see Emily and I cruising around in style.
So here is what happened this morning....we were driving down University today after a delicious breakfast at Harlow's when something caught Em's eye.  So we flipped a U-ie and needless to say words can't express what happened next.  Em and I bought each other these wonderful Christmas presents and I can officially say that this is the best weekend/Christmas present EVER!!!  GO DEVILS!!  (even if you lose to U of A, I still believe)

I DID it....Half Marathon here I come....slowly

Soooooo Big NEWS!!! I ran 10 miles last night and I am actually alive to blog about it.  First off I should start off by saying I never have ran more than 2 miles prior to training.  This is a huge step in training for the Rock and Roll Half Marathon in Phoenix, January 18th.  Prior to last night I was not sure if I was going to be able to do it but with a little support from my dad (who will also be running it with me)  and the nike+, running is a little more exciting.  Nike+ is awesome by the way.  I put this little sensor in my shoe and then put the adapter in my ipod and walaaa amazing!  I am not sure how these shoes and ipod make my legs move for that long but I like it.  Although I am super proud of myself from last night, unfortunately I am paying for it today.   I am home sick with a fever and a tummy and head ache. Hopefully with a little blogging and a lot of sleep, I will be ready for my last week of kiddos on Monday.

Summer Memories

Recently I haven't been able to find something good to blog about so since the weekend is approaching and I know there will be much more to blog after, so I thought I would blog about an amazing trip I took this summer.
This summer my friend Emily and I meet up with a bunch of buds in Dominican Republic.
It was a week of sun, shopping, eating, dancing, drinking and water sports with ten amazing girls.  There was very little sleep and far to much fun.
I mean how can you not miss this place???  Soooo pretty.  After numerous sunburns and cocktails on the beach, we headed to the famous dance club, MANGU!!

All and all an unforgettable trip and I am just starting to plan the next trip, EUROPE this summer, any suggestions??

My relaxing weekend..2 more weeks till Christmas break!

So some of you might know that I have a small problem of trying to fit WAY to much into one weekend.  This might be because I want to do everything and can't say no to anyone but whatever the reason I actually relaxed a little bit this weekend.  On friday at work the girls and I had a case of the fridays (office space reference)  We made our kiddos picket for silly juice (cherry slushies from SONIC)  It worked and Sarah the best boss went and got us all silly juice.  A perfect treat for the kids and us teachers.
On friday night Em and I headed to first fridays in Downtown Phoenix.  It was a blast I love all the different people milling around and checking out the art.  On Saturday I went and helped out with Operation Santa Claus.  I represented SARRC to help people learn about us and know were there donations were going.  Yea Special Events!!!!  Saturday night my life came to a screeching hault, hahahaha! When ASU lost to U of A in football.  I spent the night crying in my beer and T.J. and I spent the night coming up with things to make next year better.  (because we can help them soooo much from our seats on the couch)  Lastly  I tried to put away my sorrows with my dearest buddy Em and shopped the day away on Sunday.  I got all my Christmas shopping done and even managed to pick up sweaters, a handbag and a new ipod for myself. (Yep, I am definitely the person who buys all their own Christmas presents)  But here's my little Christmas tree from decorating Sunday night.

I did it.... I MADE DINNER!!

Soooo some of you might not know but I might possibly be the worst cook ever.  I moved into a new condo in March and it took me MONTHS before I even turned on my stove.  I don't know what stresses me out most about cooking.  It might be all the ingredients, the chance it might taste horrible or that I could start myself on fire but something changed on this monday night.  I actually did it I found a recipe, went and got all the ingredients and cook myself dinner.  I started one of my New Years resolutions early!! :-)  Tonight I cooked......Cheesy Chicken and Salsa Skillet.  I know that the honest truth is that it is not very exciting but it is a monday night and I sure am proud of myself. Here's what it looked like.....

Hmmmm What could be next???
Watch out Betty!
